i think the shipping cost is to make up for the fact that cheap comps are never a good idea so they are trying to make you feel it isnt a total waste... Atleast when you find it sucks you can say i only got ripped off on the shipping

cheap comps are always good to try into an envelope filter and then into fuzz.

Sure.. then you end up with a bunch of them... and you end up using your good ones... then you sell the pile of cheap ones... then you buy more cheap compressors.. then after playing with them for a bit you lose interest again... go back to your good ones... the new cheap ones sit around collecting dust... then you sell them.. then... yep I know this game too well...
