I'm a fan of having an 808 that didn't cost more than my first three cars combined.

Is there something new that they’ve done? I don’t disagree with the hate, I just want to know if there’s new drama.

I really hate how TC Electronic is now getting the Behringer vibe... I liked TC from the beginning, but since they got eaten up by Behringer it seems their product line just gets inflated with crap.

I didn't know that Behringer bought TC electronics. That explains why the new TC pedals are all cheap China stuff. My little brother acquired the TC Skysurfer reverb recently and he is totally happy with it. But when I finally heard it last weekend I was completely underwhelmed. Not really bad sounding for a unit that costs 32 EUR only, but it's just not a good product.

Yeah, really sucks. I'm still getting the Ditto+ though.

TC's new line looks tacky as hell. Is the money they are gonna make selling those cheapos going to outweigh the damage they have done to their reputation? We'll see.

TC did switch to manufacturing in China, but most previous to the buyout their pedals were made in Thailand. While I guess it would be great to have all the TC pedals made in Denmark, those days are long since passed.

Also, I don't really think that has any bearing on the quality of the pedals (especially the cheaper line from the last few years), which are pretty solid for being as affordable as they are for most.

However, the biggest fault with TC's designs will always be their problematic spring-switch system, which is probably the flimsiest part on any of their devices.

I'll still probably get that CAT clone, just because, you know, :hobbes:

Still, I highly recommend this channel, even if you still don't wanna folk w/ Behringer :snax:

While the hate for behringer in the pedal business is understandable, I have to admit that the audio interface as well as mixers and even some PA speakers I got from them was actually really good, especially considering the price...

well, that's one of the problems with behringer, right? for the price, it's not too shabby, so it's not going away any time soon (though personally i hate the sound of their mixers). their recent synths are an insane value for the money, especially since moog has the name brand bonus cost. but the way behringer is able to get down to those prices is abnormally bad for a music gear company, even if it's the same manufacturing practices used by clothing companies, for example (tho let's not rehash the grossness of cort guitars). then add copyright sniping, anti-journalism, and antisemitism and you have a wonderful company... but noobs at guitar center won't know any of that until they've already bought in.

i have to wonder if they're using the tc name for new cheap pedals to avoid any association. to them that's probably worth any loss of face to tc itself.

Is it any worse than all the Korg, Roland, Arturia, Novation, etc. budget synths made in Chinese factories just down the road from wherever they make the Model D?
