Hey. I'm in a band. It's a good band. Are you in a band? Is it a good band? It doesn't even have to be *that good*. But is it in Norway, or able to travel to Norway?

Let's set up some shows. I can try to hook up shows in Trondheim. Trondheim municipality has recently introduced some sort of "strakstilskudd", which is basically funding for really poorly planned projects. The requirements are that it's a public event that doesn't take more than two-three weeks to plan or something. So maybe we can pay for petrol or train tickets or whatever. Maybe even more than five people show up, who knows.

we used to have a song called "duschbärs"

which in swedish mean "a shower beer" and in norwegian means "a shower shit"

I'd be down to play with iRerror in Oslo, but I don't have a chance to travel up north in any foreseeable future. It's a really good initiative though!

my mate is actually half-norwegian and so who says it cant be both a shower shit and a shower beer? good times to be had for all

I'd be down to play wherever in Norway. But if it's far away from Trondheim, we'd need some sort of compensation to be able to pay travel expenses. We have a show on Friday, and then nothing is booked until August. There will be two shows around late July/early August, but those aren't nailed down yet.

We're called Skogens rop. There aren't any recordings. Maybe this autumn though, if we magically get enough money to buy the stuff we need.

We technically still have the booking for the Vigeland mausoleum Saturday August 22nd. The plan was to cancel it as ILFEU got canceled, but if enough people wanted to we could play something there for a smaller audience, for sure. Gotta know before July 31st.

We have a gig 28th, but I'm pretty sure we're free the 22nd. So if you can play loud as fuck punk rock shows there, we'd definitely be interested. The problem would be affording it. We're kinda mostly unemployed poor people...

This is a cool idea! It isn't very expensive.

There's a lot, a loooot of reverb in there (second longest natural reverb in the world? "For frequencies where speech is important (500 Hz – 2 kHz) the reverberation time is about 13 seconds [2], rising to 18 seconds at low-frequency") so I don't think punk music would work very well, especially not acoustic drums, tbh. You have to let the sounds breathe or you get sonic soup.

That being said, plenty of ILFers have done very loud and noisy sets there which were great, but you have to play the room and not just play what you want. Kind of like setting up a bunch of pedals to sit on the very brink of self-oscillation. Dancing on the edge of a cliff etc. It's great. It is probably the coolest place to make sounds in in the world. And if you want the entire room to oscillate on purpose (which is fun as hell), you can play a low frequency F#.

Price is 1600 nok for the booking itself plus 450 per hour. So if we're a few people it's very affordable for the musical experience you get in return. During previous ILFEUs each "act" has had 20-30 mins each and that has worked pretty well. Can't really be in there for much longer at a time. It's a very weird room to be in, especially alone while you're setting up. Everything you do, including breathing, is so...amplified.

Can confirm it is a lot of fun in there and it is weeeeiiiird.
