Step phaser + Phase 90...in one pedlol?

Ispired by the "one trick pony" thread, I figured I'd try my luck this way, in hopes of finally finding a phaser pedals that doesn't cost $300 and has both a step phaser mode onboard as well as lush warm phase 90 settings. Univibe tones would be nice too, but I don't wanna make this mission even more impossible :/
A step phaser is obviously a digital trick, and I'm assuming you need analog circuitry to acheive Phase 90 goodnesss...Right?
If there's no other way, I'll just look for a way to make room for both a Phase 90 and one of the cheap step filer options. Marshall RG-1, Digitech Hyper Phase, Boss PH-3,...Any other ones I don't know of?
Long shot, I know. But I've been out of the loop, I'm clueless when it comes to new boutique stuff

well yes, I remember looking into the Empress Phaser for stepped sounds plus loads of control, but it costs almost half a grand here, so I quickly settled for the Boss PH-3

Phaser with CV/EXP in and a copilot broadcast. Yes, two pedals, but broadcast adds a lot to a lot of pedals and can be used across the board with some splitters and stuff. Maybe Adam could make a phaser. Get a phase 90 or clone and replace the pot with a jack dedicated to the broadcast.
Also, Lightning Wave Astro can have any wave you want (but out of price range maybe).

Damn, dove into the world of fancy phasers. An hour flew by while I watched countles yt demos
I got distracted from my original mission, but DAMN there’s some sick dynamic/envelope phasers out there.
The Alexander Calavera kinda stood out. Not overly cluttered with controls and features I won’t use much, somewhat affordable,...And it seems to be able to add something extra to its normal phaser job, in an actual useable/musical way...
Still though, I’d love to hear from people who actually tried it or have one on their board...

Empress Phaser sucks for Phase 90 sounds in my opinion, the random is awesome but the rest is pretty meh, I have one.
It has this peak in the high midrange that makes the regular phase sounds plasticky, it's not luscious or watery or anything you want out of a phaser.
Pretty much all modern high feature phasers I tried have this problem though, they are too clean and just can not hold up to the real deal such a Phase 90, Small Stone, etc.

That's what I thought as well.

Yeah, seems like when you're nitpicky and insist on getting both the flashy modern features as well as pristine phase 90 swoosh...You'll always have to make some sort of compromise

So in that case, a used Mini Phase 95 might make sense. Small and cheap enough to overcome the board/budget issue. And it'd give me a lot more freedom when shopping for a dedicated digital type of phaser that'll just have to cover the step/cvo/whtvr stuff.
So if'd follow that approach, anything else in the Calavera realm of phasers I might have overlooked? Preferably small footprint and not extremely rare/pricey.

Did you try it with the dip switch set to nasty? I really like mine, sounds like phaser to me

Probably I did, can't remember, which dip switch or combination is that?
It just does not seem to be voiced right in my opinion.

I just got the Digitech Hyperphase in - Stepped Phaser sound is approved

although I still like the PH-3s step setting more. It seems like the Hyperphase gets to more "extreme" territories, where the PH-3 almost is a bit modest. The step divistion on the PH-3 is more musical for my taste.

Hyperphase has some sweet glitch modes, too. YouTube it.

I dont know but there is one dip switch that is just supposed to make it distort, sounds really pleasant
