So I am looking for a fairly specific reverb recommendation:
1) needs to be good with synth levels as I will be using it with a few different synths (Model:Cycles, Matriarch, DX7, and/or Digitakt)
2) needs to be mono-input, stereo-output as it will be in one of my mixer's aux sends
3) would prefer a simple, straight-forward pedal; not really interested in multiple modes or secondary functions, but not necessarily a deal-breaker either

So I've narrowed it down to possibly one of:
1) Meris Mercury 7
2) Strymon Bluesky, Flint, or Iridium (I heard it has a decent reverb mode and might be nice to have some cab sims since it normally goes through a pair of Yamaha HS7?)
3) EQD Avalanche Run

I've owned both the Merc7 and v1 of the Avalanche Run in the past. I really enjoyed both, but both had some downsides to them. The Merc7 has a lot of secondary functions that aren't always easy to remember and the Avalanche Run didn't always get along with my synths (but the v2 might be better?). I haven't used any of the Strymon pedals.

Any others I should be considering?

Also, not sure when I'm going to be able to buy this, since I think my next purchase will be a Keystep Pro

Zoom MS-70CDR. Seriously. Just take your time with it and configure as you wish.

I also love the GFI Spectral Tempus on the high end.

i am on the same search and i have the 70cdr and i can confirm what Ed is saying: i'm looking for a simpler pedal with less knobs and more easy to set on the fly, but if you have time to program the patches is the best option without any doubt, and it's super cheap too, so you could buy both the Keystep and the Zoom
I had the Avalanche Run, both versions, but never bonded with those.

Boss RV-3

Empress Reverb has no hidden functions, sounds great and has a variety of algorithms. It is a remarkably straight forward pedal, in terms of effects programming.

I'm waiting on DBA Rooms and Red Panda Context2 but am really interested in hearing the GFI Spectral Tempus.

The Zoom and the Spectral Tempus both look a little too deep with programming/menus/options for me. I don't think I want anything with a screen.

Hadn't considered the Rooms, might need to check out some demos of that. Might also check out some RV-3 demos, I was wondering if any of the Boss pedals would work.

Also, kind of forgot about the Empress Reverb. I've actually got an Echosystem on the way so we'll see how I get along with that layout.

I’ve bought and sold several but the EHX Cathedral is stereo out, no hidden functions and sounds great. I’ve I ever needed a reverb pedal again I’d consider buying another one. I should just buy one and not flip it for when I need it.

The boring-old v1 Hall of Fame surprised the hell out of me. Does stereo through, but will also stereo out if you feed it a mono signal. Stereo spread sounds great and no issues with synth levels. Has modes and toneprints, but you don't have to use them.

This +1!
I actually have two of them because I like the simple, yet versatile approach so much. It is easy to set up but you can go crazy with toneprints and the toneprint editor if you want. Plus they're obtainable pretty cheap on the used market.

Also had a HoF v1 and it was also great. Good bang for the buck and always on the used market.

If you like the Echosystem, you should like the Reverb. I have them and they quickly became favorites on my board. Functionally, the only difference between them is that the ES can run two algorithms at once, as in have a tape delay on the left side and a filter delay on the right side. The Reverb is one algorithm at a time.

I'm not a big fan of the way they save and recall presets though. For some reason, it isn't intuitive to me but it is a hell of a lot better than Meris.

So I literally just got the Echosystem. I've only tried it out for a few minutes (I'm technically working right now so I didn't want to spend too long with it), but the thing I immediately disliked about it is all of the different algorithms; I really don't want to have to refer to a manual every time I want to change modes or when I forget whatever Thing 1 does. It's not necessarily a deal breaker, I know this thing is super powerful once I get a better feel for it, but I just want a simple and immediate interface. As much as I literally just said I don't want any screens, I feel like the Echosystem might actually benefit from a screen to tell me what each mode is and what Thing 1/2 controls.

The TC HoF could work as well. It is a bit boring, but it seems like it would be a good pedal to just get the job done. I've owned a Flashback in the past and really didn't have any complaints about it other than it being a bit boring.

Honestly, I want something like a stereo version of the EQD Levitation or even the Dispatch Master. Maybe I should just buy two to run in stereo actually I already have two Dispatch Masters, but they're both on pedalboards at the moment. Maybe I'll pull them off and do a quick test to see how I like that instead.

If you are not limited to pedals, I had very nice results with a half rack Yamaha FX500 + synths in the past. It's inexpensive too.
I once collected 3 of them for a ripoff Slowdive band but I ended up using them more for a different purpose.

Actually I am totally in for some more rack gear (I've got a Boss DE200 and a mostly empty Ikea Rast to fill up). I'll check out the Yamaha FX500

What about the Neunaber Immerse 2? I sure hate the looks of it but it seems simple and it does both stereo to stereo and mono to stereo. Never had experience with Neunaber products and I don't know how much stereo movement it has, but I saw on IG that shikawkee just got one, so let's wait for his two cents
