16 sec. delay clones/workalikes

So, over the past few years I've realized that I sometimes miss having a delay for dynamic loops and frippertronics. My workflow and wants keeps me coming back to the 16 sec. since it basically has the features and interface I want. However, I'm obviously not buying an original.

From memory, the Maneco Sweet 16 and Expedition Electronics 60 Second Delay are the most widespread and affordable versions on the market currently. Anybody have any experience with either? I seem to remember talking to someone on here about the 60 sec at some point. Are there other options I should look into?

I'm not sure it's similar to a Frippertronic, but there is this recent patch for Zoia :
https://patchstorage.com/ambient-drone-looper/

Maybe someone with a Zoia could check it?

beside those you already pointed out, I don't know any other similar devices. My issue with most these is Mono in/out, since I use 90% of the time a stereo setting, so I need my main looper to be Stereo.

Did you already took a look at the Pigtronix Infinity?
The pitch shifting in the infinity is very well done, with a linear behaviour, so you can get these faux-tape speed change effects, plus you have a decay on the overdub, to fade out the previous recorded material. And reverse play.

We're working on a pedal version of the PCM42. Might suit your needs. Not ready until next year though.

I have been interested in this too but it seems to be quite a rare genre of loopers. dont know any pedals apart from the ones you mentioned. I guess you could get in the ballpark with just longass digidelay like a dd20 or something. You would definitely be able to mimic it in puredata or similar.

Saving my pennies for Ed’s 42-alike, but it’s worth mentioning that the street price on the Eventide Rose is dropping to $300. Still interested in that one, and may bite with a good coupon deal if I’m feeling flush with cash.

Rose is a good substitute for the meantime especially at that price.

I am incredibly curious about this one and applaud you guys on your hard work. It's just a simplistic, yet brilliant design. Everyone knows about slamming the limiter on one of these, but from what I understand, the incredible modulation was dependent on older converter technology. VST emulations, while endorsed, still fell a bit short by anyone's standards, but that's marketing.

What I am most happy about is that you guys are doing this and that it's not some sort of Lexicon re-issue. They're never the same. SST-206, Yardstick, etc. Very cool, but not the same.

No comments on the analog bits. I have total faith that your team is going to do this correctly, or not do it at all, modeled or not.

So is the Timefactor (they are like $200 used now).

Ct5 does frippertronics really well, as does Blooper if you already have either of those. Maneco sweet 16 is a good EHX 16 clone.

Blooper does okay with Frippertronics. Just tap once for record, tap again at whatever length you want without playing and set the repeats to taste. Fair warning: the repeats beyond 12 o'clock go on forever. More than you'd expect.

Definitely can be done with the DD20. Heck I did it on the cheap with a DD6 for a while. Only 5.2 seconds and no repitching of loops with that though.

The looper on the Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai is very capable at this with controls for loop decay, half speed/normal/double speed (with anything in between), reverse, and low or high pass filtering of the loop.

I think I might’ve just talked myself into picking one up again...

Yeah, I have the 60 Second Delay and I definitely love it/use it all the time. Mostly for ambient stuff/floaty synthy inputs.

How do you use the timefactor for looping like that? I got a timefactor to loop more but got distracted by the multitap delay
