I just got this new mini midi controller, and it's super powerful and fun to program!

I don't really understand MIDI but I'm curious about it.
Can this be set up to send LFO-style control changes? Can you tap the switch and have it send some kind of message to change settings in sequence? What about random?

yes and no. you can't send LFO-styel controls and you can't send random messages.
But if your device has an LFO which you can control via midi, you can set it to send a message to change his speed for example.
You can program every footswitch to send max. 16 messeges, which you can set to be sent all together at one press or in batches at every press (that's how for example I programmed the half/full speed switch: one press send speed down message, a second one the speed up).
