Guitar preamp/DI pedals. What are you using?

I can not have amps. I miss them.
For the past year I've been going from guitar to Boss OD3 to audio interface, but 2020 is the year I start buying pedals again and I need something more "amp" like that I can place before hitting the audio interface.
I recently heard of the
Boss FDR1 that can act as a preamp with a Deluxe Reverb sound signature, and fuck yes, I want that.
Another one I'm looking at is the Elektron Analog Heat, bonus points because of the envelope and LFOs parameters and also works as an audio interface, but I haven't found any clips on how it sounds with guitar
But what else is out there? And what are you guys using?

Haven't played the Analog Heat, but the Analog Drive works pretty well as a pre. I probably run it straight into a power amp more than I use it as a pedal. Takes some dialing in, but lots of sounds and control. If you're willing to shell out Analog Heat $$$, though, you might consider the Fryette Valvulator GP/DI. Sounds amazing, can be used as a preamp, DI, headphone amp or 1-watt amp into a cab.

Beyond that, I'm really interested in trying the Diezel Zerrer, as it's also chock full of nice features and has a lot of range.

that's legitimate in my opinion! I thought I was the only person who did this tbh. I keep the OD-3 around but I actually like using the boss GT pedals for direct recording too.

Currently have an Iridium and it's not really a preamp pedal but a wee modeler - it sounds pretty good to me but the headphone output blows (very noisy and awkwardly placed). Aside from reverb and delay I've only put a Mooer RAT thing and a harmonic percolator thing in front of it but it seems to play nicely with pedals.
The Origin Revival Drive sounds promising for this but it's expensive ($600ish?) and for non-computer use needs a cab sim pedal for another $300.

That looks incredibly sexy on every possible way. Will definitely take a look!

Yes, OD3 is king and I thought I was the only one lol I will probably keep it even after I get one of these preamps/DI I'm looking for.
Those GT... Do they all come with the same features? I remember a compact one without the expression pedal and I liked it.
I'm curious if they also included these COSM emulations Boss made with Fender for the FDR/FRV/FD something series.

I missed these two, Iridium looks nice and it has those Fender "simulations" built in.
Thank you!

Digitech's version of the Death Metal has a cab sim.

Wouldnt the bad monkey or the bluesey one be a better option? but yeah that cab sim is awesome for what it comes in

But would it really be better?
In your heart of hearts, you know the truth.

Hmmm and that will match with my hot cheetos themed chuck taylors.
For the price, I may give it a shot!

Btw, the more I read the GT001 manual the more I'm convinced that's the one.
It has all the COSM simulations, all the quirky shit the DD500 has, audio to MIDI converter!, it is small, it works as an Audio Interface, XLR with Phantom power, it's only $200 in used condition.
Wondering if it will sound good

For electric guitar I'm using the Iridium. A lot.
For acoustic I use the Red Eye.

All those format digitechs do as far as I know. It doesn't sound amazing so probably isn't what you're looking for but they're cool to have around because it'll do I'm a pinch. And they're also decent pedals.

Relevant to my interests. Particularly things that work well into IR loaders.

I've been casually looking for a guitar DI to use live in place of an amp. I don't own either, so I can't attest to quality, but I've been considering a DSM & Humbolt Simplifier or a GFI Cabzeus. Anyone have experience with either of those?

It does not.
HX Stomp on the other hand...
