Huge break through tonight...everything talks to each other!!! Still one odditiy I am having w the desired channels, but everything works and can be turned on (and hence controlled FULLY) via the ES-8!

Tons of MIDI experimenting and planning lie ahead, but at least I know the MIDI flows and works and I'll be able to control all the presets via MIDI.

My wife could give 2 :omg: :!!!: s so figured why not share my small victory!!!

Very good. Now make your life easier for $60.

Get a MIDI Solutions Quadra-Thru so you can plug all that in *and* use the editor for the ES-8 simultaneously!

That sounds like a solid way to get things programmed without having to switch cables a zillion times. Thanks!

Yep. I was the guinea pig on that methodology, can confirm it works 100%.

ES-8 powers the thing too, so no need for adapter.

Nice! That’s something I have yet to do with my setup: get everything talking together and synced properly

One other thing with that rig and the ES-8 if you're so inclined - you can put a couple of the FS-7 dual switches on it and assign MIDI CC or whatever to them, if you want granular control of some of the things.

Been a month but today my MIDI solutions Quadra Thru finally arrived and the game is changed! Thank you SO MUCH for that suggestion. It is phenomenal being able to be connected to the editor while still sending MIDI through the chain.

I just programmed and tested 100 patches in less than 20 mins thanks to this!!!! I am actually controlling 5 pedals via MIDI now. I have also discovered reassigning functions to buttons and each patch has tons of control beyond just turning stuff on. Clicking the footswitches does a variety of things within the patches. I have an expression pedal in there too and might add another button. Mind boggling what you can do w this setup!!!

Its been a bit of a never ending project but I am finally starting tonsee the light now that I have the Quadra to help me experiment w the programming. Before it was program, unplug, replug, try it out, swap it back and make changes...orakenchanges on the unit.

I also had to raise it to get everything underneath. Went w the $2 furniture feet and some loctite...

I still have to come up w all my presets for the Meris and Red Panda stuff but now I have basic control and initial settings down!

Wires are a mess...

The MIDI chain is ES-8 > Future Impact > Meris MIDI (Hedra & Ottobit Jr) > disaster area micro.ghost (Particle v2) > disaster area micro.ghost (Tensor) > Source Audio Reflex Controller

Glad to hear it solved the problem.

It really was a game-changing little box. I dealt with the ES-8 before the editor, and it was grand, but was pulling teeth to program a bunch of things - I could modify something fast enough or make a quick patch or two, but sitting down and doing 30? Forget it.

The big piece of advice I can give you for sanity is to make a master patch with all your "typical" assigns (even if you change them sometimes), and use that as your baseline and stash a copy of it deep in the banks you don't use or three.

Just select that, then make changes, write to wherever, repeat.

I really, really want another ES-8.

I know, I'm wrong in the head.
