MASF makes a two knob version called kidnappper. Kind of hard to find and $200 ish.

I’ve been down this rabbit hole brother. Just get an ehx pitchfork for cheap and throw it in front of your favorite Distortion. Or if you want more glitch... get any blue box clone on the market.

Don’t do this to yourself.

Two things.
1. An OG buzz box is selling for less than a 33 TT-1 right now. Both are priced at a stupid price point (inb4 who makes the rules, I do! Inb4, it’s at market value... it’s still stupid)
2. This thread has me thinking of getting an Alexander Marshmallow to put in front of gross distortion. Utilize that warp function. Hmmm.

I've owned both the DOD version and Audible Disease clone, the latter of which seemed much hissier than the original. Similar results could probably be achieved by placing something like a Boss OC-2 in front of a DOD Grunge. There's also the more affordable OG King Buzzo Blue Box>Rat combo the FX33 was allegedly modeled after per some internet sources.

The octave is parallel to the grunge in the fx33 actually (buzz's chain is rat>blue box). But yeah just get a blue box, not worth getting the real deal unless you're a collector. The EQD bit commander seems like a pretty tite square wave oct down too, if you want some more features.

Much appreciated - I feel like maybe I’ll just hold out. Maybe MANTIC will make their clone part of their regular line. Or maybe I’ll see one pop up on a local CL. I’m willing to pay “market” prices perhaps? I’m always so wary of buying a vintage DOD and having that relay switch crap out. My Bass Grunge and one of my many DOD Death Metals have had to be modded to true bypass and I “have a guy” that can do this with relative ease....

I also might buy an octave pedal as discussed and.... maybe a parallel mixer? Run the Bass Grunge and an octave (and perhaps my Unpleasant Surprise for extra gated weirdness?).

Okay, I thought about this... Retinal, you have a drum machine and MS-20 mini as well. Why not take the $350 and find a Geiger Counter Pro on sale (I got mine in that neighborhood). Or you could find a cheap OG one. Forget the buzz box.

Look the geiger is yellow. Half way there. Get a marker or some left over house paint... or whatever you have and go full blown Rhys from Seppuku on it. Badda bing, badda boom, badda bees.

This is excellent feedback but I can’t contemplate anything this complicated. I think I should start looking at octave pedals and running them with an unpleasant surprise. Or just bite the bullet any plunk down some big cash for a bee boy.

I don’t know... it is insane and so fully featured. I went down a buzz box rabbit hole last year so I get the appeal. Like you, with the prices, I just couldn’t pull the trigger on anything. I already buy enough stupid crap.

It's more than that though... it's
