My name is Nathan and I’m electronically incompetent. A question about impedance as it relates to reverb tanks. Anasounds element is a pedal that connects to a reverb tank. Their reverb tanks are 8 ohms at the input and 2250 ohms at the output. If I wanted to try the pedal with a different reverb tank, would I need to match those impedances exactly? Or can I go over/under, etc?

I would guess you have gobs of slop regarding the output of the tank, I'm not familiar with whatever input circuitry they employ, but common method tends to veer toward high impedance inputs so anything goes.

...as a general rule, once the input impedance of a circuit is lower than the output impedance of a source, loading down occurs which affects bandwidth, blah blah blah - but it's all generally a tonal and not a potential damage consideration.

The output driver is probably a different matter. You don't want to "load down" the 8 ohm capable output much by putting heavier loads (lower numbers) here. The upside is that you'd be hard pressed to find a tank with less than 8 ohms input. Should you happen upon a high impedance input tank, no damage should occur, but the impedance mismatch may favor one corner of your bandwidth over another.

TL;DR I would have fun with trying out different tanks and not worry much about it.
