just as he was about to head out on his comeback tour behind the new album. sucks that he couldn't get the audience's love which he so desperately needed.

so bummed to hear this yesterday...not gonna pretend like I was a huge fan, but dude was super talented and had crafted an art for himself that was all his own. really admired him.

he seems to have been a very brave man to bare his pain as he did, and to go on for decades with "treatment-resistant depression" as he himself described it.

David, Richie Edwards, Keith Emerson, Ian Curtis...all gone, likely because they feared that they wouldn't be up to the challenge of touring. Emerson may be the saddest case of all...he was preparing to tour Japan after losing a lot of dexterity due to medical issues, and his online "fans" dumped on it cos he "couldn't play any more."
