Seems like it is "lots" of multiple items being auctioned together? Too bad, what am I going to do with LOT (28) ASST'D PEAVEY GUITAR AMPLIFIERS, for example. Still, maybe there is something in the listings someone here will know what to do with.

Anyway, get ready for a lot of cheap Peavey gear to hit the market.

Srsly tho: those Trace Elliot combos.

I just need to repeat to myself: I have an amp. I have an amp. I have an amp.

I know, right?!!?

I guess I don't know enough of the modern trace history, I thought it was Gibson, not Peavey, that bought out and distributed TE stateside. W/E, Trace = love.

A quick Wikipediafying shows that Gibson did buy them in '98, but Peavey acquired the distribution rights in '05.

Lot of 10 coffin cases. Don't pretend you're not waiting anxiously to bid on them.

But surely you need a lot of 8 TE bass amps?

Conversely, I hate the TE combo that's at our practice space. It's a GP7 I think, hooked up to a 2x18 now. Maybe it just doesn't mesh with our sound, or pales in comparison to the Acoustic we had before.. I'm open to suggestions on other Traces that sound different and are louder though.

Lots of good stuff in that auction, but I don't have a truck or live in the Estados Unidos unfortunately. The only thing I'd like to get in on is an assorted electrical components lots, like a group buy sorta thing. Hard to see exactly what's in there but definitely a bunch of useful parts in each. I hope they go to other builders and not just end up on ebay at ridic prices.

I use a TE GP12SMX pre-amp running into a 1x15 and 4x10. It has a blendable valve/solid state input stage that allows you to add a bit of tubey "warmth". It also has a couple of preshapes, a 12 band selectable graphic instead of 7 on the GP7, and it has a two band compressor with seperate compression for highs and lows. It's very versatile and sounds huge. I do tend to blend around 60% valve though, plus around 25% compression on lows and around 40% on highs, so it might be that sound I enjoy from it that sets it apart from a GP7, or it might just be a difference in taste all together. Plus, I'd never just run into 18 inch speakers. Flop city.

Yeah that seems like a way better setup. We just got stuck with that GP7 after some moron blew the Acoustic, and since we don't really have a bassist (me and the other guitarist switch, or use octave pedals/synths) buying a real bass amp hasn't been prioritized. That Kustom 2x18 turned up locally and was cheap so we gave it a shot, but it is definitely too flabby. Pedals help (current pre of choice - Ampeg SCR DI) but it would be nice to have a stack that sounded good as-is.

I don't understand, why don't they just run over all this stuff with an excavator? :?:
