Ever buy a pedal based on graphics alone?

There are some things I cannot stand to look down at while playing, the font "brush script" is def. one of them, but recently I've been looking at the Teisco Delay and though I dig the sound I am so drawn to the design aesthetic. Granted I'm not a fan of the jack or power supply placement but there's something sleek about the design that draws me to it. I don't need another delay but at $150 I have to admit I'm tempted.

Have you ever bought a pedal just on looks?

Just on looks would be pushing it. If I'm on the fence about two pedals, though, the one that looks better often holds better resale value, so it's more likely to win out.

If I don't like a stock finish, I'll wait on a limited edition. Some brands don't have great resale value, so you're just costing yourself extra money by renting a pedal you're hoping to part with.

I mean it's difficult to not know what a pedal does and can do.... but... yeah. I even put stickers on uglier pedals I love like the Digiverb or Ibanez PM7 to keep em superrrr~~~~kawaii for my board.

I basically bought a used Interstellar Orbiter because it looked cool and the demos maybe sort of gave me an idea of what it did - but I thought it was more like an envelope filter but the price was right and I just went for it - I really like it and use it all the time though so in the end it was a winner..... I was debating between that and the EHX Blurst and the Blust was also cool with that fucking eyeball and shit.... but the Interstellar Orbiter definitely has cooler graphics.....

(however I also knew I could resell it in 5 minutes in a heartbeat so I wasn't too chuffed aboot it....)

I don't think I've ever bought a pedal based on design, but I think I've avoided cool pedals because they looked shitty only to later figure out that they were pretty cool.

No, because a guitar needs to feel right when you play it, the balance, neck, etc... Unless it was something odd and super cheap at a yard sale or something I've always wanted (like a vox phantom 6 in white with a white pickguard), I would need to see if we "bond."

Mellowtone Hi-Five Plus. It was $35 and had a kitten giving you a hi-five on it. Ended up being the best “clean” boost pedal I ever bought

No, but once or twice I've bought a second version of a pedal that I already owned because I liked the finish better.
