Title says it. So far most intrigued by the copilot orbit, maybe ss/bs mini but seems to be fairly tame based on demos ive seen. Also dug the caroline hawaiin pizza that i tried with the bias at minimum (but its too big for my board). Needs to be standard boss sized, and buffer friendly.

wutcha got

Maybe check out the MXR Blue Box-very buffer-friendly, in my experience

Buffer friendly.. as in you run a buffer pedal in front of it ?

Peep Velcrobot and maybe the Pixel.. Zippy (1 or 2) fuzz factory may have buffer problem.. but they grow on trees might be worth trying

Correct. I need to run this within the buffered fx loop of my envelope filter, so the fuzz needs to be ok with seeing low impedance signals instead of guitar pickups directly.

Buffer friendly fuzz is tricky. The ones by Magnetic Effects always come to mind.

Enough velcro in a Carcosa? Buffer tolerant.

Another good one to add to the list. I think it has an internal dipswitch for active pickups, which I assume means it can be ok seeing low impedance signals.

I forgot to add Carcosa to the list as well. It's inexpensive and seems to be able to get some gatey splatty sounds, and more traditional fuzz sounds, tho I do kinda want something that can maybe get nastier. Then again, about $50 or so used.

Yup, I've been trying other solutions like running a passive splitter to my buzzaround fuzz and envelope filter input, but at this point figured it just makes sense to have two fuzzes on the board (and get some different sounds while im at it). The White Atom and Solar Blender seem to fit the bill as far as buffers and getting some gated sounds, tho a bit more traditional. Good looks.

Carcosa is buffer agnostic and gets very spitty nasty.

DISCLAIMER: I had a hand in its design but it's not like I see any benefit from people buying them.

Velcrobot works great with a buffer, but you don't get the bot effect. Like, the filtery thing. It is waaaay better without a buffer.
Fairfield Circuitry Unpleasant Surprise is pretty vicious even with a buffer.

Wolf Computer works pretty well after a buffer in my experience.

Mellowtone Wolf Computer. Devi Ever US. Velcrobot. Zvex Mastotron (spelling?). Adventure Audio Dream Reaper. PLL based fuzzes like the EQD data corrupter.

Also the ss/bs Mini is not synthy at all IMO. And the Blue Box doesn't have that velcro character, it's way smoothed out and not scratchy at all from my experience, but if that's not as important as the synthy/spitty quality it's a great option.

I don't really relate to the buffer issue, if it sound different with a buffer I either work with it and appreciate the versatility or reorganize/omit it from the chain.

I find the Fuzz Factory to be a little different behind a buffer, but not any worse. It maybe doesn't have the same range of oscillations, but gets equally spitty.

The Spaceman SpaceRocket and Nebula are on the spitty side, as is the Diablo HEQ-1. The Nebula and HEQ-1 exceed your size requirement, though.

Trombetta Bones can be sort of spitty.
