Hey did any of you jokers ever use one of these jokers?
https://www.musiciansfriend.com//amplif ... 0-bass-amp#
There's one on my local Gregslist for $160 and I was looking at the new Fender Rumble 40s for $200. Just need it for some recording I'm doing and maybe some practices. Nothing serious.
Wondering if anybody particularly enjoys the sound of it or if it's horseshit or what.
Thanks!

I'd get newer SS bass amps over the "old" cheapies by far at this point.
It'll work, and sound alright, but....realistically, if i was in the market, and it was only a $40 difference....I'd get the newer one.

That's what I was leaning toward too. The Rumble bass solid staters sound very good despite not any kind of classic amp or anything. I wish it wasn't an extra $100 for the new 100W, but WELP.
I suppose I meant "old" as in there have been like a thousand different iterations of those amps since 2002, and that I can barely find any info about that model on the Dinnernet. But yeah, new is probably the thing to do.
Thanks for the input!

Fender changes SS bass amps with the season it seems. Much of the time it's a minor change, but the SS amp market in general has gotten better and higher power and whatnot - but in cheapies, you're making the right call.

I had one of those. It worked fine and stayed alive through its share of abuse, but wasn't anything special. The new Rumbles are definitely nicer.
