let's drag the Creamy Dreamer guy like the days of yore

Remember that guy? The Sustain Punch Creamy Dreamer guy?
Someone here could probably give first-hand testimony on this saga, meaning someone who posted on that pedal builder forum.
Creamer dude was hanging out on some diy pedalbuilding forum, just getting started. Someone gave him some help with a sovtek muff build, he took that and started saying he sent the pedal to billy corgan and it was the pumpkins' sound now. This was around the machina era when i heard about it.
I have a bit of a story about this guy; i think i shared it here years ago
so as a long time pumpkins devotee when i saw the ad for the creamy dreamer in AMS (or musician's friend, but i think it was AMS) the write-up actually said it the creamy dreamer was the pumpkins' new sound or something. They printed that shit in the catalog! Otherwise I wouldn't have even been interested.
Think it was $269 or something nice like that
SO i bought the creamy dreamer, ran it through my 100 watt plexi (brag) 1993 pcb reissue (anti brag)
and everything (that wasn't digital) sounded fucking great through that thing. for real. and if a pedal i tried through the plexi didn't sound great at first, i had the inputs bridged so i could just adjust the inputs and the eq knobs and the presence and arrive at a pretty killer tone eventually.
the creamy dreamer fucking sucked. it sounded like dog shit. totally. totally sucked. and it was $269 which was hilarious because it sounded like a $70 pedal.
so naturally i sent it back, like right away i sent it back. within a few days.
next week i get a phone call. i get a phone call from the fucking guy... the sustain punch guy. why in the fuck did ams just say hey, here's our customers phone number, go ahead and call him?
so this guy was irritated and hostile and talking really fast right off the bat. all pretense of good faith customer relations were dropped immediately. quizzing me about what gear i used, what settings i used on the pedal, etc. and at this point i wasn't even bothered by the guy, i was just amused by what a spaz he was. i wasn't bothered because i had been playing guitar for a long time, i had super nice gear and i knew what the fuck i was doing with it.
he gave me the bullshit sales pitch about how special the pedal was because of this component and that circuit tweak and all this other shit that was transparently jargon meant to bewilder me into thinking he was really smart, and my knowledge was inferior so he must be right, this is an awesome pedal.
the topic of the pumpkins came up, of course, and of course he told me that it was used by the pumpkins, and i told him it didn't sound anything like the pumpkins or any of their recordings, and he essentially called me a liar because its what the pumpkins use and i was wrong.
after a couple minutes he shared with me his conclusion that i didn't know what a good pedal sounded like, i didn't know what good tone was, and this was his weird method of trying to talk me into keeping the pedal and not going through with the return. i guess he was trying to bully me into thinking he was right, because i couldn't trust my ears and i didn't know what sounds good.
it was around this point in the conversation where it was obviously not going to be resolved like a normal disagreement between two grown men so i just told him "look, i don't like the pedal, i don't care what you say to me, i don't like it, you can't convince me otherwise, and i'm not keeping it"
so he gave up, i got something else from AMS, i can't remember what
what a fuckin bellend
how the fuck did AMS give that guy my phone number
