Let's find me some new speakers

I just finished building myself some sweet new cabs. With these new cabs, I'm ready to move on to new speakers. I've been using vintage 30 loaded cabs for years now and I'm kind of tired of the sound. I usually play sort of deathy-doomy black metal through a marshall 2203. With pedal dirt/fuzz (duh). Right now i have a BAT revelation super bass and a sovtek tall font muff on my board, with sometimes a bone shaker stacked into one of them. The v30's sound pretty good, but I really think the high end can be a little piercing, particularly with that amp. I'd like something a little smoother in the high end and maybe a little richer in the low mids. I like it heavy, but don't need thundering doom overwhelming low end. I play with a bass player, so that's covered and I need it to hold together for fast playing. I know I'm kind of alone on this, but I'm really not looking to mix speakers. I know it seems weird playing a full stack to not take advantage of that, but I like it to sound how it sounds and to know how it's going to sound when mic'd through a PA. And I often don't have the opportunity or want to pester sound folks to mic multiple speakers.
I've been leaning towards celestial H75's or maybe the Fane/Avatar H75's. On paper the seem like what I want, but I've never played them. I can't really buy stuff to try it. It's going to cost a fortune to load these two cabs as it is.
So what say you? What else should i look into?
I haven't actually gotten a picture since I attached all the hardware, but here's a couple of nearly done pics.

it really depends on what you're looking for. i like Celestion Greenbacks a lot, much more than the Vintage 30s. if you want painfully clean the Eminence clone of the JBL D series should be right up your street. personally, i'm quite interested in the Fane clones which i expect would give me a different sound than the more common speakers.

I have used Weber Thames in various configurations. They are Fane clones. Probably the most versatile speaker I have ever tried, both for dirt and sparkly cleans.

i've become a big fan of the Eminence Cannabis Rex. it will give you the smoother highs and rich low mids that you seek.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. Keep them coming.
Why am I having such a damn hard time posting the pictures? This is why I don't have friends.

Thanks! It was a lot of fun. And a learning experience. I'm going to build a matching 2x12 just for the hell of it. Will probably just stick a couple of the v30's I have lying around in it. And I'm going to build a 1x12 just for my practice amp at home. I'll probably try tolexing that one. Make a little replica of a vintage marshall cab or something. Just for fun and to practice tolex. And I'm tempted to make a matching head shell for my amp. We'll see how crazy I get.

I’m another Greenback lover, but I’m going to load up a 2x12” with alnico Creams in a day or two - I’ll report back!

Greenbacks in an EL84 amp are particularly the bomb. there's something mysterious about the combination that i don't understand, but they just work together.

I love greenbacks. If it weren’t for the wattage issue that’s definitely what I’d get. I just worry id blow them up. The H75’s seem appealing cause it’s supposedly close to a higher wattage greenback.

We’ll, for anyone curious, I bought a quad of the fane/avatar h75’s. I loaded one cab with them and brought it to practice last night. I was totally blown away. Nice balanced speakers with sweet rich mids and a wonderful tight low end. Really smoothed out compared to the v30’s. Very clear and articulate. It’s somewhat green back flavored (although it’s been a really long time since I actually played a green back), but it seems maybe more modern. Hard to describe exactly. The low end is just really cool. Good and heavy, but there’s just no flub. I like to think the boxes I built contribute, even though it’s probably mostly speaker choice, but it’s honestly the best sounding cab I’ve ever played.
I really wish I could just go on and order 4 more for the other cab, but it’s going to have to wait. For the time, I’m just going to load it with some v30’s and try that out. At least that way I can be playing my new full stack, and who knows, maybe I’ll love the combo.
Highly recommend this speaker. Great price too. Made in England fanes for cheaper than a Chinese v30. And sounds incredible. And I have to hand it to avatar. Not only is the speaker awesome, but as usual, the service was great. Ordered on a Thursday and was at my door on Monday. And they answered some dumb questions and treated me right.

Good to hear... I’ve been needing to replace the speakers in my Hiwatt cab with Fane-alikes, and these look really great...
The cabs look fantastic too, by the way...
