Looking for a new guitar (Gee-tar, Axe, whatevas)

Post by Blurillaz »

So, my only specifications are-
~Stays in tune when you bend strings or use vibrato
~Full scale neck, or whateve you call it (Strat size, which is the same as the Jazzmaster size too. So whatever scale those are)
~Single coils
Optional~ good vibrato arm, that keeps your strings in tune well. (No strat type vibratos, or Floyd Roses and don't call it a tremolo  )

I'm open to just about anything :idk:

Any price range? My first thought is an MIM Telecaster which fits the three main descriptions. I wasn't too excited about my Tele when I first got it, but it slowly became my favorite guitar. There's also the Squier Classic Vibe which I know Aen could say quite a few good things about.

From what I've played, my XV820 is of similar quality to an MIM Tele. At least that's what I tend to play in stores when demoing stuff, and I like my XV820 quite a bit.

+1 to the tele with bigsby.

I just bought a squire custom tele two weeks ago and mounted a bigsby on it last weekend.
And I have to say I'm quite taken with it...

eeesh, never heard good things about tuning stability on those.

I would get a tele though. They are fucking battle axes.

I have a tele with a bigsby and it's a tits guitar, but the bigsby does NOT stay in tune even with slight dips on the bar...I think I'm spoiled with my JM, but I wouldn't expect tuning stability with a bigsby.

just sell your J Mascis JM, save some $$$ and get a used AVRI JM :thumb: :bob:

Hey, I have a Fender Custom Robin Trower sig thats got locking tuners on it, and even if I use the whammy bar like crazy it stays in tune. I can bend all I want and it stays in tune. I really only tune it after I put on strings unless I change tunings, and it is hassle free none of that floyd rose mess. I know you weren't looking for a strat trem but don't count it out just yet.
