HELP ME FIND A NEW AMP!

So here's what i need. A combo, preferably a 10" or a 12" speaker, i don't wanna go with any of the tinier fenders because i'd rather get a silver face twin reverb this winter, when i have money. But in the mean time, i've been on tour with my band, the dangerous ponies, which you can find here
http://www.ilovefuzz.com/viewtopic.php?f=150&t=6060 and basically my amp has been far too loud for many of our smaller shows. Like of the 7 we've played, i'm talking 5. I play a 40w DR. Z Prescription 2x12 combo, and as many of you know when you can't push the tubes, tube amps like to lose high end, and with my daisy rock with its stupid 498t bridge humbucker, it likes to sound like mudfest '09.
Basically i'm into having a smaller amp (preferably a tube amp) thats like 15-20 watts, and pretty compact. I just need it to sound pretty bright.
I'm waiting for Eric and Aen to finish their amps.. More so eric because his is smaller, (i'll be more than happy to buy a prototype from you Eric)
I've also contemplated smaller 30w amps, but that still might be a bit loud.
I'm thinking maybe the lunchbox is a good thing to get, does it sound shitty quiet?
I was also thinking a yamaha solid state from the late 70's when soldano was building them, because my buddy has that and it sounds amazing. We used it in recordings with my band Last Dinosaurs. I believe the model is a G50-112.
if anyone knows bout the lunchbox (i know MM & others have it) let me know how it is on low volumes.
Thanks for the help guys!

I'm no expert but aren't Vox AC15's pretty bright?
I know they're sexy at least.

Yea I've been looking at the Vox Night train... although I haven't seen enough info on it to commit to it yet as it's still fairly new, if anyone has tried it i'd like to hear views too... sounds pretty good from the samples though, not a combo though i'm afraid, but could be something to look at.
The AC15 still has that Vox sparkle, but aren't the modern ones a hybrid amp? Not that, that may be a problem, they're still pretty sexy.

What about the egnater rebel 20. They are over ebay for 600 bucks for the tiny head and cabinet. It's made to push tubes at low volumes. I've played one it's neat, I wouldn't say it has any unique characters to it but it's reliable enough to tour with. I'm sure with a awesome pedal chain it would be just fine.

Oh yeah, I forgot, I'm looking at a Ampeg reverb rocket/jet and they work well not all the way cranked. Plus they have killer reverb, I mean if that is your sorta of thing.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
Our other guitarist uses an Ampeg Reverbrocket, and being one of the small a 12w versions, it's just a little to quiet. Plus it sounds WAY WAY WAY to thin for my liking.
The Vox AC-15 Would be awesome, but i believe it's a bit out of my price range... i'm not trying to spend too much more than $300, $400 really max.
The Egnator would be sweet, but prices again
thats why i was thinking more SS... or Mellowtone.
Thanks though! Let's Keep trying!

EDIT: AH MAN i realized that i didn't mention in the initial post that i'd like to keep it as close to $300 as possible.

Oh yeah I forgot, I have a Lunchbox. Mine's a prototype so I can't say for sure how the stock one will be, but it is fantastic at lower volumes. Very low volumes aren't good but nothing sounds great like that anyway. But for bedroom levels it's good. Plus since the speaker isn't very bassy you shouldn't rumble through the neighbour's walls.
If you're looking for bright and compact then you can't go wrong with the Lunchbox.

I'm either leaning towards the lunchbox or the doberman DIY kit...
i'm gonna research the DIY kit more.
I'll have to look into the pro Jr. as well.. these are all quite good suggestions,
i've gotta say though, the lunchbox looks mighty appealing.
