New Radiant Storm King

So, this is super last minute, but New Radiant Storm King will be playing in Portland, OR 9/10/09 at Berbati's Pan. NRSK is a great band... just so happens they were the first "indie rock" band I ever saw, and they blew my mind that fateful night back in 1996. Some might say I never recovered.
They started out as a loose n' woolly Pavement meets Sonic Youth sort of thing, but have since turned into a really tight song-centric group... I don't want to say "power pop," but they've definitely come into their own when it comes to melody. Their lead guitarist and co-founder / co-songwriter, Peyton Pinkerton, has also turned into something of an indie-rock session guitarist, and has played & toured with the Silver Jews and the Pernice Brothers.
Anyhow, if any of the Portland folks out there in iLF-land are looking for something to do tonight, I would highly recommend this show. And just to finish the pimpin', here's a couple of recent NRSK vids from YooToob (I really love the second one, Quicksand Under Carpet):
