Anyone modded a Boneshaker yet?

I love the EQ shapeability on them, but want fuzz-level gain and a better footswitch. Has anyone tried modding theirs? I was thinking it would be interesting to try a Muff circuit in there...

Jwar had their magpie circuit bent one. I have a 3 in one box version. I also have pcbs I got from someone that is just the eq side of things. So could be added to any dirt.

What kind of mod are you looking for?

I either want a different gain stage than the stock one (does nothing for me and sounds IMO muddy and bland), or a complete removal of gain stage so it's more of a clean boost. doesn't get clean for me even with distortion rolled completely off...

Both of those are easy enough, but I'd recommend commissioning it rather than modding. Would almost be more work doing that all to the existing pedal. I can do this, I know baremountain has messed with the circuit. And I'm pretty sure jrfox has

Hey, so I might be making a cross between a boneshaker and a muff for anyone interested. The muff will be bass friendly, likely in the russian vein. The EQ section form the boneshaker will be using 9mm pots to keep it contained to a smaller footprint. Give me a shout if you're interested. The more people who are, the cheaper the final cost will be.

That could be very interesting. I really like the Boneshaker but something is a tad unrefined to the gain sound. I am tempted to just mod mine somehow. The EQ is powerful and far superior to any single tone knob type circuit.

Ownership of the circuit reverted back to Mark once the deal with DigiTech was over. I bet Mark would be willing to make you whatever you want with the Boneshaker EQ.

Hmm not that I can remember, haha. I appreciate you thinking of me though

I know DRod did a bit of digging and messing about with the circuit though!

As Tom said above, it was Mark from Black Arts Toneworks.

Totes, You should definitely try Mark out for Boneshaker stuff. He did an awesome job on the og pedal I own 4 and a painting of one for a reason.

I just like EQ's. Shoving a 3 band gyrator/parametric eq at the end of a muff sounds like a lovely project.
