to create original Twitter content, i've begun a series called "Weird Music," focusing on bands and albums little-known, particularly in the US where most of my followers live. here's the first installment.
"The Holy Bible" by Manic Street Preachers.

sorry 'bout that. i should have checked it, but i was kind of fried from trying to master posting a 13-tweet thread. it's quite a pain trying to cut a long spiel into 280-character installments, especially when your text editor doesn't do character counts.

The Manics aren't weird here. They're still on 90s Radio every day. They were a band a lot of kids I know got into as teenagers and subsequently grew out of. Personally, I can't take any band that does an earnest cover of the MASH theme tune (Suicide is Painless) seriously. It sums them up, though: The I'm14andthisisdeep of music.

i originally typed a nice, polite reply, but fuck that. listen up:
1. if you'd bothered to actually look at the thread, you'd have noticed that LITERALLY THE FIRST THING I SAID was that my posts are generally meant for my followers who are predominantly from the US. but i suppose you find it better in some way to spout off without even looking at what you're criticising. so first of all, you're lazy.
2. the "i'm14and thisisdeep" thing is pretty funny considering that your post positively REEKS of "i'm21andohsomuchmorecleverthanYOU." but then, your PERSONAL taste obviously trumps mine, or the dozens of critics who have repeatedly called "...Bible" a classic, one of the best 100 albums of all time, etc. you're not that clever, honey. so you're arrogant as well as lazy.
3. you're also EXTREMELY rude. i've been on this forum for over a decade and have never once shit on someone else's musical taste. why, you might ask? because i have enough respect for the other members to let them love what they love even if i personally think it's crap. clearly you don't; as far as i know they also teach basic manners and politeness in Scotland, too, so i don't know what you think your excuse is.
in closing, should i wish to be condescended to by someone half my age i'll PM you and ask. until then, i cordially invite you to fuck right off and let the rest of us talk about music like adults.
