It’s the best. Like really, had it for a few weeks now and can’t believe the things it does. Like there are so many wild sounds, like ct5 kinda stuff and weird arps. Like just didn’t know this thing could do all this and I’m surprised more people don’t use them. Espically cause they are pretty cheap used.

Either way let’s have a nice chat about them cause none of my friends care and I just wanna celebrate this Eggcellent shred box.

Any settings I should try??

Needs limited runs, knobs demo and midi-over-usb I guess it came out too soon for the current market.


Despite having shitloads of crazy things where one can easily get lost for hours just fucking around with it, I find Diatonic the most inspiring to actually create melodies. The "Learn" footswitch is fucking ace too!

Protip: get an expression pedal, it can be of course really useful to change parameters quickly, but you can get these unexpected cool sounds (ala Lexicon Vortex) when going from -3 octaves to a +M13, 666ms to 3ms and no reverb to full reverb, all at the same time (just an example).

How are you using yours?

Only had it a month and haven’t really done much but mess around with it on guitar. Mostly use some the the previous owners patches and they are fun. My favorite thing for guitar so far is running the synth mode into a fuzz war. It’s so ridiculous sounding and can glitch like crazy. Super fun to do like stupid glitch solos with.

Also hooked it up to my minilogue via midi to keep them in sequence with in another. Have it in an aux in my mixer and can basically use it as a separate synth. Especially using the quadrovox or harmodulator modes. Or even crystals. It’s just suck a fun and creative pedal that I find if I spend enough time with it could def replace some of the stuff on my main board

I would imagine its capabilities are even more astounding after numerous firmware upgrades since the point it was originally released, which was around the time I briefly owned one and had to part with it for financial reasons.

It is, humbly, the greatest pedal ever made.

It can do some of everything, and most of it better than the rest. This week I decided I would sell it and buy simpler pedals to play guitar more traditionally (verb, delay, whammy, tuner). Then I realized I could do all of those things better with the PF. And is still be missing 90% of what I could do before.

H9 is inferior. Everything is inferior.

The earlier comment about it being ahead of its time is the only explanation I have...Eventide is sorta unsexy compared to the ILF microbuilders, too, but damn if this thing hasn’t kicked everything else off my board except dirt and a home brew Clouds pedal.

I whole heartily agree with the kicking shit off my board. This thing does so much and with the extension switch it can cover so much more. I agree it was def ahead of its time for sure. It has so many uses and like I said, using it as an instrument in it self is so fun and inspiring. I’ll send it a signal from my synth and use something like the harmodulator and am able to have a whole other medoldy. I traded a few pedals I wasn’t using with the intent on trying it and trading again for something else but I’m pretty sure this thing has a permanent place right now

I'm on the hunt to get one back. I was really pissed when I sold it and the presets I saved didn't work with the newer H9 software and that deterred me from wanting to put in the work to recreate a lot of the patches.

I got the H9 Max thinking I could have all the PF presets plus the random reverb or delay settings but the H9 just doesn't sound the same.

Got a Timefactor back and now I'm on the hunt to get a PF back.

The crystals mode is awesome when not using it for the typical shimmer type effect. Getting some slow reverse octave down delays is magic.

Pitchflex was great for complex whammy like harmonies and the I liked the Arp algo for pattern trems and using the exp pedal to control the speed.

I miss my PF. Such a great and deep pedal. Used it for a lot of stuff. When I couldn't bring a big board(which I had at the time I had the PF) I usually just brought the PF and some dirt pedals.

Using the Crystals without pitch shifting as a reverse delay. <3

Pitchfactor and H9 algorithms are the same, and honestly can't think of any reason why anyone would waste resources in modify them in any way, unless they both run on different hardware.

What it is different from those pedals and might change overall sound is the input and output levels, H9 has a different way to set those, whereas in the PF you flip a switch.

And also there is a "Source" parameter, you might want to double check that value.

Not really in the game, no. This Sensory Percussion stuff (complex MIDI drums) plus Axoloti have had me more than occupied.
