My band just put out a demo track (Noisy shreddy indie rock)

We started out intending to play slowcore/space rock. Our first drummer was really boring so I started compensating for that with noisier/busier guitar. We then got my buddy in on drums, and somehow over the course of two months we've added more dirt pedals and speed and eventually got to this point. This is one of three songs we're eventually going to send out as a demo, and one of about 8 total that are being worked into an album. All DIY recording/artwork/photography/eventual "music video" in case it wasn't obvious (will update when i get that finished hopefully tonight). This is the band I've been wanting to play in for over a decade, so despite our technical limitations and band-wide colds we all came down with this week, we're pretty proud of ourselves. I'm the "lead" guitarist and second vocalist.

Sounds good to me! I’m assuming your guitar is the one panned left? What dirt did you use?

Yes I am panned left! I'm running a SSBS Mini and an Ibanez OD850, those are kind of my "magic duo" dirts for both my guitars (a modified CP Jazzmaster and an EBMM St. Vincent). I used the St. V on the recording. I also have a Mooer Yellow Comp running before those. Amp is a modded Vox AC15.
Thanks everyone! Based on some other feedback I've gotten on the mix it's gonna be tweaked a little bit before its added to our "music video" and on Spotify, but I appreciate the listens. This is probably our most slammin' and straightforward song, most of the rest we currently have written are a little more slowcore or math-rock influenced with a couple other fast n' heavy ones in the mix.

Nice "lead" sound and this drummer definitely isn't boring.

That's one of my best friends! We've played together for almost 15 years now, he's got a master's degree in percussion haha. I appreciate him for not just going insane on the kit and fitting the style of music instead.

Update: we've done a couple more songs and had to officially change our name because of some post-rock band in the UK getting in contact with us and our digital distribution was showing up under their profiles. We also have merch. And a full-time bassist. Have shows booked all through the summer which is the only time we can manage to play regularly. Working towards getting a better-recorded short album/long EP done (I don't know what you call 7 full songs + 3 instrumental tracks that comes in at ~25 minutes).

Thanks man! for being recorded in a garage with fairly cheap mics and mixed on headphones we're pretty pleased with it. It'll probably get a re-mixing in an actual studio and maybe re-do the vocals on some of the tracks before we officially charge money for it, once all the songs are finished.
And I'm a big purple fan myself. Had a black/purple jazzmaster and my AC15 is also purple. And my shoes. And the shirts we just ordered have a purple design on them...
