Sup! This is my first actual new thread on here lmao, so i'll jump to it:

I've been running a Novo 18 for about a year now, and I'm thinking of switching up to a 12x24 config board so i can just have a solid 2 rows of pedals within reach, since I don't use a loop switcher anymore. I'll attach my current config and my planned one below.

My question is: What do yall like for actual boards? My only real critera are the dimensions and having some kind of hard cover/ATA case, although an IEC port and I/O jacks would be a nice bonus.
I've been looking at Blackbird and Creation shit for a day or so, but don't really wanna go the p&w route for my gear. I also stumbled onto this dude Death or Glory who does some cool shit for competitive prices, and actually just an hour ago learned that the Classic 2 is 12x24.

Anyway, hit up this thread w/ suggestions. Would love to end up buying from someone from this or a similar forum if anyone here makes these!

I hated the pedaltrain. the bar system is just so clumsy.
I had a temple audio board for awhile and I thought it was awesome. outfitted the bad dad with an iec and i/o and it was pretty slick. used soft case. alas, sold off most pedals.

Yeah I'm not at all a fan of the 'open' layout and shit. I appreciate that they're sturdy and heavy but that's really the only upside, if you even count being heavy as a upside.

Imo your best best bet would be to focus on a decent case that's as close as possible to the size you want.

It doesn't take a lot of skill to turn a piece of plywood into a pedalboard that's raised op a bit so the power unit fits underneath
You get to choose the position and size of the holes for the cables/wires, and the whole thing'll cost you less than any of the fancy commercial options

Dont know where this idea that pedaltrains are heavy came from. Theyre lighter than the same size plywood board. Cable organizing and power supply mounting is super easy. Brady Cases may be an alternative if you explicitly want to avoid a pedaltrain.

Also that proposed layout isnt going to fit once you add cables.

Anything lighter than either a pedaltrain or a plywood board is gonna be risky in terms of duranility. There's a reason pedaltrains are build the way they're build, the weight of your foot stomping down on the pedals a million times can cause a flimsy bloard to bend or brake.

And yeah, I notice the same problem with that layout. Would work if all those pedals had jack inputs at the top side, but with what you're planning, you're gonna have to make the board bigger, or ditch at least one or two pedals

From what I've seen the supports look minimal but I've never tried one out myself. I get the feeling they might be designed more for bedrooms than stages.

You can get additional support. Had a trio 28. Used a loop switched up front so wasn’t stomping like hell but didn’t have any problems.

Chumleys and Kentucky Hot Brown Pedalboards on Reverb seem to do good work without any sort of affiliation.

That's a worry of mine too, but really I would just wanna avoid using their mounting system since it's so much extra on top of the initial setup.

EBS Flat Cables, bruh.

You're right about it being a tight fit, though. The Daedalus is a 'maybe', although I'd like one to be sure. If I dropped it I could reorient the 500's switch and mve the multistomp down a row, which would be tight in other ways but certainly clear up space.

Basalt, SN, and Model feT are all top jacks, tho.
