Why the fuck does Fresno get the coolest guitars on Craigslist???

I could've sworn someone was selling this exact guitar on HCEG.

If I had my own car, I'd drive out their right now (Though it might take 3 days)

I've owned that guitar before --- it's ok, but not worth $300.

That amp is useless --- you can't even hear it.

These guitars are more gimmicky than anything. I don't believe they have a truss rod, so if they break you are pretty much fucked, as well.

They do have a truss rod, it's covered up by the neck pocket. You have to take the neck off to adjust it.

Mine looks like shit, neck's just fine. You can't argue with brazillian rosewood for less than $300.

In that shape with case that guitar is worth at least $500-$800. Do you know what you're talking about?

Granted this guitar takes some love and time to get playing properly, it is not your average cheap vintage guitar. So give your instrument some proper love next time before you jump to conclusions about the entire line.

p.s. my amp in a case sounds great and it's all original. So I don't know what may have happend to the one you stumbled upon.

I wasn't saying it isn't technically "worth" $300, but plenty of crappy gear is "worth" money -- just 'cause people are overpaying for this doesn't make it good.

I mean, it's basically a very expensive gimmicky guitar that you can't really use, you can't reach the high frets...it honestly doesn't even sound that great.

For 40 years people have been going insane about this guitar, but how many shows can you honestly play with it?

It was made for a child to use in the 60's, and that's exactly what it looks and feels like -- something a child, not a grown man, should play.

Also, I didn't say a word about the quality of the "case amp" -- I said you can't even hear it b/c its so damn quiet.

I like to buy gear I can use and I have come to the conclusion that a guitar made for a seven year old's hands and an amp that is entirely inaudible just isn't the direction I want to go. If that's your thing, go for it.

One of the reasons I play music is so I can be a child... maybe this guitar would work for me.

Well maybe you should've learned how to use the neck-tilt if you have such problems with the action. If you do exactly as the original manual says, it works just fine. It also has been known to be used as a slide guitar.

What's gimmicks? It's a straight forward simple as can be guitar. It never dictated what it's ebay going price would be. You can't expect a les paul when you buy a guitar that was only $65 and sold at sears.

People have not been raving about this guitar for 40 years... they weren't worth anything until after the '90s.

Some of us enjoy short-scale guitars, which aren't always for 'children.' What does being manly have to do with a guitar? They're not hot-rods.

I've owned 2 of these and have played many more. If you want to pretend you know it all about something, go for it.

So far, mine has made it through it's fair share of practices and show... so like I said, maybe it was the one you got.

i think they are really cool guitar, but i think the issue with them is finding a good playing example.

i had one that i got for abotu that price. the amp really isnt good, probably like 1-2 watts. cool gimmick though

the guitar, the one i had was in pretty nice shape, good frets, but it was just steel reinforced, not a trussrod, and it had a bit of backbow, so i couldnt attain that low of action, so intonation suffered.

if you find one with a good neck on it though, then it should be awesome. i mean beck likes his obvi

300 is a fair price these days for these

What do you mean, playing example?
If you mean a musician who uses it, It's Beck's main guitar. He also uses an one pickup Dano Pro for slide dtuff.

If you mean something else, oh well.
