I'm making some microphones. They are haute cheap. Here is the first test. Waiting on amazon's prime delayed shipping to deliver some tools to build enclosures for these things.
Here's a picture of me testing it vs an expensive mic in the interim.
Blind samples without EQ etc. on piano and a cranked AC30

threw my pretty decent speakers i dont hear any audible difference. Whats the specs on this?

Electret mic capsules modified. This one is omni, making some cardioid ones soon. They are balanced and powered by 48v/phantom power (unlike standard electret mics) They are being housed in copper pipes. They have a built in 50ish foot xlr cable with a neutrik jack and fit in standard mic clips. The circuit is based on Schoeps mics, not that it really sounds like one though.
Jonnyangle actually made me some foam housing to maybe do some binaural style recording. Getting freaky weird.

I mean I am taking them disassembled. Ethnic bearded audio dude is well aware of what to do or not do around authorities while carrying gear

But on a serious note, any chance you do a write up on how you built these ? I have a few electet mics I bought for a bootleg mic, but I haven't gotten around to that yet.. they are supposed to sound really good.
