a friend gave me one of those Weber 12" speakers that's built to emulate the old JBL D120 speaker. my problem is that i don't have a suitable enclosure. the last time i needed a box i bought a Lopoline which was great, but they were subsequently bought out by a competitor whose stuff seems a bit crude. the places i've found online are generally awfully expensive...i really don't want to pay $250 for an empty box. anyone got any good ideas? i can't build one myself because i haven't got the required tools.

Amazon. Peavey, Bugera, VHT, Seismic all for approx $150 or less.

But if you've go access to CL that's prob the way to go.

If you haven't gotten one yet, this doesn't seem too bad for the price:

TRM makes some cool looking and very fairly priced cabinets in your price range. I believe you just need to do some sanding and staining / tung oiling to finish them. You can get them open backed, closed backed, convertible backed, etc. They come in pine w/ birch ply baffles and rear panels, or you can special order them in birch ply. He also has a Reverb store if you prefer to shop that way.

You can get a Rawcabs off eBay, but you'd have to finish it yourself. I bought one and it's high quality finger joined and he makes them to order so you can get nearly any configuration. Sorry if you needed it covered.
