Fuzz on the go

Hey
I've been travelling for a few months now and although it's been a great experience I sorely miss being able to rock out. Picking up the occasional acoustic just isn't cutting it. I was wondering if you guys have any ideas on how to carry an electric for someone travelling light.
Currently I'm thinking about buying a pignose and travelling with my guitar neck detached. My worry is that this might cause problems to the neck as it is without any tension.
Anyone got any thoughts?
Many thanks

Maybe one of these lil guys and a battery amp with some dirt.

What kinda traveling and where at?

There's definitely an acclimation period to interacting with it, but the Artiphon is one option. It's a controller, so you're limited by what you connect it with (iOS, laptop, synths).

I travel a lot for work and pleasure.
I had a Martin Backpacker for awhile. Didn't much care for it, never got used to its diminutive size.
Then I bought a Composite Acoustics carbon fiber guitar. Awesome, played well, sounded great, light, nearly indestructable. There's a few other carbon fiber options out there
But I like to play electrics and I love playing my EGC so I just travel with it now.

There you are entrepreneurs.

Or try to hit someone up on craigslist?
Or go to GC, buy them instruments, return them after you're done? Pretty low but I'm beginning to accept people do those things.
Maybe get a portable inexpensive synth?

She's a natural - got that art rocker stare already

Reminds me of when I introduced my son to guitars (I think he was around five or six) and we attached my old Yamaha to a few effects pedals and he laid it on the floor (to heavy to lift!) and just hit it with beaters and plastic tubes

I wish I'd recorded that!

I think I found your guitar

Now all you need is a fuzz pedal and an amp to go with it!

I always thought these look dope when I see comesect's posts and that they could be perfect as a travel guitar.

Don't know how similar they are to a traditional guitar neck though...

Wow, thanks for all the replys. Definitely feeling like some sort of small stringed thing I can atleast jam out a few blues/stoner riffs on now.

Nice little instrument. I´m not sure I could rock it as well as dminners daughter though.
I´m currently hitchiking on various boats. Just came back to the Med from the Caribbean. Already a bit bored of civilisation though so might go and hit up some friends who are living in Africa soon.

I currently only have a shitty tablet with me so not sure how possible this is.

The carbon fibre guitars look sexy as hell. After a quick search I found a few that look good. Definitely high on my list. Don´t blame you for wanting to bring your EGC around with you either, those things are sick.

I would sign up to come and jam at my place in an instant! Funny you say that too, yesterday I went out and found a nice guitar shop. Spent a couple of hours just jamming out. My playing was rusty as hell but the guys in the shop didn´t seem to mind and I had a blast. Not sure I´d want to use them as a hire service though. Seems like a bit of a piss take.
Just what I was looking for. Perfect for the traveller on the budget too. I hope he accepts my offer.

I don´t know how practical it would be to travel with one of these but fuck it. I want one. Where did you find out about them?

That looks... uncomfortable... can´t deny it´s usefulness though.
Sorry for the long reply. Many thanks again for all your ideas.

I hope so too.

I bet that aluminum'd be good in marine environments.

i'm thinking one of those Hohner copies of the Steinberger headless guitars. they're fairly available used, and though i haven't played one i saw Daevid Allen play one extensively at the Gong event in Amsterdam and it sounded great.
