Cheap Cry Baby GCB-95 & Mod the hell out of it, True Bypass, Smooth the Bass to treble transition, add an Mids Pot, Vocal mod to make it more Wah than Woh, Adjustable frequency Range and Gain & Bass Increase switch... all easily doable with plenty of info on the net and for £10 of parts, my Cry baby is as much as I could ask for in a wah.

Colorsounds are nice though, I used to have an vintage one.

The main problems with my Thomas Organ is that it has a scratchy pot, and the switch isn't reliable, plus the bypass stinks. Does anyone take care of those problems in vintage wahs?

Yes they do, take out the stock bypass switch and replace it with an DPDT switch to true bypass the pedal & either use contact cleaner on the pot (short term solution) or replace it the better option and if you want to keep the old one for if you ever re-sell it or anything, just stick it in a baggy and keep it somewhere else.

True bypassing info can be found here http://www.wah-wah.co.uk/

I used to have an rmc5 wizard wah. Very vocal, wide sweep, works well with singles and buckers, likes high gain.
Sold it because I was moving away from wah at the time and needed dough for more fuzz :stitch: .

Check out the rmc4 pic wah if you want a more vintage sound.

Also check out Wilson's wah offerings...the demos seem amazing. I own one of his control4's, and those wah enclosures are built like tanks.
There are some that call me...morningstaru?

DOD FX-17, sounds really clean and unique. Really similar to the wah probe. It can also be a volume pedal, which is pretty cool.

The Wah Probe is just the Colorsound Inductorless Wah circuit, so that could be an option aswell if you like it.

Black Cat Moan.

I rarely use Wah, but when I do this is fucking amazing. It has a mid boost/fuzz "Moan" circuit built in that when used with the wah can create these crazy synthy tones that reminds me of the prodigy.

I use a Fulltone CLYDE Deluxe Wah. Has 3 different modes, a volume (gain) knob and an internal pot for additional bass and gain adjustment. Sounds great to me, and gives a wide range of voice/tone options. Only down side is the price.
