I am about to pull the trigger on a Lyra 8 and I wanted to know all the love hate stories here. I know that some of you have gotten one and some have passed. So please don't pull any punches and let me know how you really feel/felt about this box.
Thanks.

if i ever find one used for cheap, i will probably get one. i am not a huge synth person, but that one is one that i could see myself using a lot. There is another thread on here that had people talking about it a lot and Lyra was in the thread title until people started talking about other synths too in it. you can read the beginning of it to read more about what people said about the lyra -> viewtopic.php?f=149&t=57588

hope it helps

i live in northern thailand in Chiang Rai, which touched Myanmar and Laos. Chiang Mai is about 3 hours away from me by bus. I live in a small village in the middle of rice fields outside of the city. Did you learn any Thai language when you stayed?

sadly very little Thai language. Enough to get lost when telling a taxi where to take me

I have been to Chiang Rai a couple of times doing visa runs to Myanmar. I like the north a lot - all my friends from Chiang Mai are moving to Bangkok lately but I still think living in the north is beautiful. You can always jump a quick plane down to the beaches but day to day life is much easier in the north.

I understand what you mean. Life in the north is very different than in central thailand. i love the north very much. the weather is great too. being near the mountains is better to me than the beaches personally because in the north it is very cool during the end of the year. And like you said, if you want to see the south you can easily take a bus, train, or plane if you have money. It is interesting that your friends are moving to Bangkok from Chiang Mai. Most people from Bangkok are now moving and investing in Chiang Mai the past few years haha

about the lyra, i think most people that buy them really seem to like them. Usually when synths come out, i see many people resell them pretty quickly. But with the lyras, it is extremely rare to find them used for sale.
