Bass multi-effects

About to buy a Boss ME-50B, but is there anything else I should consider? I wouldn't need much more than comp/drive/vol, modulation/delays would be nice but not critical. I like the all-in-one aspect of a multi effect, but hate complex menus so no Zoom MS pedal for me.

If there's a cool booteek pedal with a comp circuit and drive circuit and something else fun in one enclosure I'd be all ears.

Some time ago, I had a lot of first-hand experience with the Boss ME-6B, one of the predecessors of the ME-50B. In classic Boss style, they include cool functions in one iteration of a product only to remove them in successive products and replace them with functions that weren't as good as the previous ones. All the drive effects in the 6B are analog, and the octave and synth effects were considered to be on par with the best individual Boss pedal versions. It also has a few cool tricks up its sleeve like delay/reverb spillover (which hardly anything does these days, bafflingly) and the capability of arranging the footswitches to change presets or individual effects. Programming it is a breeze. You'll have to get your own expression pedal (which isn't so bad because it'll probably have a better feel than a built-in one), but with the money you'll save – the 6B can be had for about half the price of the 50B, based on a brief check – you'll at least come out even. The manual is here: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/69576 ... Me-6b.html
