So I have a DAM Ezekiel, a Wounded Paw Attack Goat, and a TAFM. I like them all except it's hard to read the knobs on the TAFM.
I want something different. Currently thinking one of the new Dizzytones, a Gromtech Animato, an assmaster silicon, or a Shoe Pixel. Thanks everyone! (ps last time I asked you guys a question I ended up buying the TAFM and it rocks, Thanks!!)

I can’t speak to your choices specifically but I had a brassmaster clone and found it a wild beast that would not be tamed. And not in a way that I liked, but that was more unmanageable in band context.

I bought a Pharaoh last year and more than lives up to the hype. It sound fantastic with my bass and it tweakable from OD to full on hairy fuzz. I had a hard time with it at first before I hit the no diodes section and then I truly knew that it was one I would keep on my board. I moved from “using an LS-2, often” to “this shit is my jam, always”.

A fuzz pedal that excels at use with the bass guitar. In this case “bass” is a 4 string passive bass guitar.

What are you looking for that what you have doesn't provide. Do you have any ODs to experiment with stacking?

I use a Shoe Pixel on guitar. It's great once you learn how to control it. My favorite synthy, zippy fuzz.

I also use it on guitar and my ERG. It's quite fantastic

Slap some labels on the TAFM for the controls?

Don't have any experience with those peds you mensioned. But I'm picky when it comes to bass+dirt too. Haven't had any luck with Rat or Muff -bass circuits. Just like most other dirt pedals, compression/distortion goes at the expence of cut/presence, and even more so on bass, putting a rat/muff between yer amp and bass is a great way to NOT cut through in a mix imo.

Maybe look into other tweakable dirt peds with some eq options. The dod boneshaker is dirt (HAHA) cheap, but if you want a bit more gain you could check out the Elements by Dr.Scientist.

My personal favorite on Bass, for a nice thick layer of grit that's not too overbearing: Hotcake.

HM-2 is sick too, highly recommend it to anyone who thinks it can only do the swedish chainsaw metal sound.

The HM2 is by far the sickest bass dirt. It does tons more than just tones. Bass like 3/4 up with the treble rolled back a little from halfway is my go to.
