i need some longer cables

what are some good high quality cables that aren't stupid expensive and in the 15-18 foot range? i have a couple of 10 foot mogami cables with g&h 1/4 inch plugs that i use to go from my pedal board to amps but unfortunately discovered the other night that they are just way too short, even playing in a tiny space. i know i can always buy some new longer mogamis but they use those really annoying and super big neutrik plugs now. this really isn't too much of an issue because i can just swap the plugs. but i feel like there's an equally cheap option without me having to resolder cables.

Man this is like asking what the best beer is ;)

So I'll take a crack at it.. planet waves cables are great for cheap. Queue hating.

And PBR is the best cheap beer.

the planet waves cables do have discrete plugs and i can get em at work so i'm sure i'll get a good discount. anyone else?

ever since i switched to mogami i just feel like everything else is trash. the worst part is my 10 foot cables used to be 18 foot cables, but i cut em down for a home setup coz i thought i'd never play live again.

i should just buy two more mogamis and switch the plugs. :sigh: i know how to do it. it's just time consuming.

I used to like the cheap pro co lifelines.
*edit* And they're discontinued...

i made my own. cheapest solution. surely your bandmates need cables, eh? not so bad when you order 100' of cable and split it up.

I forget how big the plugs are in comparison but Mogami silvers can be just as effective as gold.

Although, I don't really have an issue with the plugs. I may not have the most recent mogamis though. :idk:

the older mogami gold cables used g&h connectors, new mogami gold cables use the big as fuck neutrik connectors. the silvers use amphenol connectors which are good, but those suckers only come in 12 feet (at least at my store). and i already have a bunch as backups.

yeah i'm thinking cheapest option is use my current 18 foot angle-straight cable, convert it to a straight -straight, buy another 18 footer, replace the neutrik connectors with some leftover g&h ones i have floating around and then buy a shorter mogami platinum cable as my main cable. (i get this shit at cost, the markup on cables is like 75%)

Word, markup/margins on almost all instrument accessories is insane. Probably the one thing I miss about working music retail is buying 18.5ft mogami golds for 17 bucks.

I've had great luck with Divine Noise. They're like 50 bux but bulletproof and lifetime guaranteed on the off chance they fail.

+1

Then I make whatever length I need. That includes patch cables between pedals. It is cheaper, and more convienent in the long run.

Planet waves is fine, I have a few of them, no issues. My go to is a Mogami Silent Gold. It's nice to be able to noiselessly swap guitars with the amp at full bore.

i opened up one of those big ass neutrik plugs. they actually super easy to desolder and then solder to the g&h plugs so i sucked it up and bought a couple of new mogamis. thanks for all the suggestions. diy is always the best option it would seem.
