Musicians friend issue

Anybody else get less than new stuff from musicians friend? :idk:
I just bought a brand new Devi Bit Mangler pedal from MF and they sent me an obviously used pedal. It had dirty fingerprints all over it (I know its handmade, but... :grumpy: ) and has some suspect gouges on the metal ( I know its unfinished, but... :grumpy: ), and the top label is loose and torn on the pedal and the name "chuck" is written on the back in sharpie ( maybe that's legit, but new to me on a DE effect :idk: ). Plus it came in an empty box (besides the pedal :p ). This is the 7th Devi pedal I've purchased new and they've all come with the same candy in the box. A sucker, a sticker, a business card, and 4 of them had a pick. Not that any of the extras are needed, but their absence makes me super suspicious. Plus all the others had a few packing peanuts in box securing the pedal while this one rattled around. This is the second time I've gotten a pedal from MF (the other a EH metal muff) that seemed like an obvously used pedal. :grumpy: :grumpy: :grumpy: :grumpy: :grumpy: just wondering if anyone else got screwed or if I'm the only one with a dark cloud over me.
MF is giving me the runaround with it and I'll probably just keep it so that they don't go and send it out to another schmuck. At least it works. :erm: But for $300....... :idk:

You should call them back and make a big stink. At the least, they should give you a credit for some free stuff for pawning off used gear on you.

It seem a bit fraudulent. Then again, It could be something specific to the pedals devi sends to MF. She might not pack food into something that could sit on the shelf for a while. It is handmade, so you could get fingerprints all over it. Still it sound sketchy. Maybe email devi to find out if these are standard things for MF pedals, then assail MF if they've screwed you over. I'd be shooting for free stuff. :stitch:

I called them and they said they'd be "happy to accept the return" :thumb: but since I am describing it in "other than new condition", they will be charging me a 15% restocking fee and I'll have to pay shipping both ways. I think MF stands for mother fuckers.
And thanks Caesar, but I've bought 4 devi pedals from mother fuckers and they've all had the goods.
mother fuckers

Yea the chuck part is kinda

I'd keep bugging them about it...that's obviously a used pedal.

you got eff'd.

someone may have returned the pedal to MF, and it was then shipped back out without being checked for quality, or at least not checked very well.

you're within your rights to demand a full refund, or at least some credit, and not have to pay bullshit restocking fees on top of that.

Yeah I'd make a big fuss about it if I were you. They're not allowed to advertise a product as new and give you something used, that's illegal. I think you should inform them of this and tell them that breaking the law will cost them a little more than shipping and restocking fees.
