Don't some of you guys like AC/DC? Surprised no one posted this yet.

Saw them back in the 80's. Personally, I don't like them.

Not sure what you mean by that, my thread title is very close to title of the article I linked to:

"Malcolm Young, AC/DC Guitarist and Co-Founder, Dead at 64"

I was reporting information in the thread title, not providing commentary :idk:

 Considering his situation, his passing is not exactly a bad thing

Sad but true. Its really a kind mercy in a fucked up sort of way.

Sucks, I have fond memories of pissing off my hyper christian former friends by practicing "Hells Bells".

Rest in Power Malcolm, you magnificent bastard.

I've listened to AC/DC probably more than any other band. Past 6-7 years not too much but there always seems to be a time where I listen to nothing but AC/DC.

RIP.

Sad way to go.

Something I think is really cool about how AC/DC set up their sound has to do with Malcolm and his Gretsch. Filtertrons are really low gain and don't have much mids or bass, they occupy the upper register. I thought it was cool, clever and unique how they set up the rhythm guitar to have its own space in the high end, where Angus is in the mids and the bass and drums are down low. I wondered why other bands never caught on to that setup as it makes a really heavy and full but uncluttered sound.

Yea I noticed that re listening to Back in Black today. Everything sits really well in the mix. Must have taken them forever to get that just right.

AC/DC is great. The tone on the intro of “Its A Long Way to the Top” is THE toan.

And that was their best album, IMO. Back in Black was good, and High Voltage had its moments, but Highway to Hell ruled. But I could have lived without being mooned by the midget when I saw them live.

I have always loved ACDC, and Malcolm's guitar tone has always been the pinnacle of rock n roll guitar for me.

Mustaine posted something about seeing him in heaven, which made me laugh.

I'm not really into ACDC... the kind of band that had only one song. But yeah, they are important in the rock and roll history. RIP.
