Drives like the Zap Machine?

Hey folks,

Recently got my hands on an EQD Zap Machine and really dig it- I haven't tried a ton of drives before but this one hits a sweet spot I haven't heard before. Apologize for the tone buzz words but it's articulate/gritty/fuzzy and is good with dynamics too.

What else is out there in the same vein? Want to see if there's an even better version of what I'm hearing or if this one is the one.

Never tried a Zap Machine, but I've heard a rumor that they're based on the Zonk Machine. Not sure if that's true or not. :idk:

Are you looking specifically for a dual-channel drive?

IIRC, it's related to the JHS (not that JHS) Shatterbox, which is a Zonk Machine + Treble booster.
So, basically, a fuzz face with a rangemaster tacked on the end.

Creepy Fingers has a Zonk Machine.

Haven't tried a Creepy Fingers Zonk either. I'm sure it sounds great. All Brad's builds do.

The Zonk is more of a fuzz than a drive. Not really what the OP wants. EQD probably greatly messed with the circuit to get to the Zap Machine.

There're most likely other drives that feel similar to the Zap Machine. Not sure what they are though. Maybe some of the Skreddy stuff?
