Strymon Dig + RV6 or RV500?

Dig + RV6 seems like it would be lessy fiddly, but the RV500 can do quite a lot more than both, so....
I was thinking the same thing. Outside of the RV3 I never really vibed with any of Boss' reverbs and stuck to Digitech and others. Wondering if there is something I am missing. I am sure the RV500 probably has a good amount sounds locked in it, but their smaller reverb pedals seem pretty limiting.odontophobia wrote:why the boss reverbs specifically? lots of other good reverbs out there. if there's a specific sound the boss does then that's perfect (i loved the rv3, for instance, explosions in the sky in a box).
RV-6 just does it for me, especially the dynamic mode. Hall and Plate aren't perfect, but I rarely use them anyway.odontophobia wrote:why the boss reverbs specifically? lots of other good reverbs out there. if there's a specific sound the boss does then that's perfect (i loved the rv3, for instance, explosions in the sky in a box).
I've been getting back into Cocteau Twins a lot. I think that's to blame for my fickle pedal-flipping dilemma.qersty wrote:I have the MD500 and I don't find the menus hard to work at all so I would say RV500 all the way! Or go for another reverb with the DIG. What kinda sounds are you going for?
Oh the VFE looks really rad for the price! I too have been playing around with dual delays in GR5 and I just found out a cool thing you can do with it cause you can set a pre delay for the taps so you can have it smear out of sync with each other. I am not that into cocteau twins (I should tho) but I listened a bit on youtube and I hear heavily modulated delay so I get why you wanna go boss. I have heard people dig the RV5 modulation alot. Why not an RV5 plus the DIG? They are way cheaper.Snufkino wrote:RV-6 just does it for me, especially the dynamic mode. Should have mentioned eyeing up the VFE mobius strip. Nothing fancy, but it does dual-parallel delay. Seems like an under-the-radar pedal.
