lend me your brain, what you say and prefer. simple and very affordable glitch pedal (captures the sound while in bypass and play the capture/stutter-y while on), capture time is 100 ms to a couple seconds, so i'm torn of having a momentary or latching operation (both it isnt an option due the final price goal)

Momentary is usually the appeal of this effect. So what you're talking about is building a workalike to the Raptio?

never had a raptio, the only glitch i had were the dd2, dfx9 and digidelay hold feature, it is more like the dd2, the difference is that you can increase the playback time and keep the same capture rate

Any sort of hold is best as momentary. Imo. Fredrik from parasit studios makes a pedal called the "Xor'Cist" that does a bunch of nutty shit, but you can make the stomp for the weird LFO stuff it does momentary or latching with a toggle.

It may even be cool to make it soft touch and put a dip switch inside to select between latching and momentary.

you can choose either with the Judder but it's not as smooth as a raptio. the hold on my dd3 is pretty dope for this. you can mess with the time/feedback while holding it to mess with the pitch.

Does it have a blend? If yes, then latching.

it will have separate independent volume for the dry and for the stutter/glitch/sampler output, mostly because if you want to have more volume to play over the sampler (i found it work best that way and cut in a mix with other instruments if you want to play over).

and yes is the one or the other, since having the option of both options, it will increase the cost and take me out of the range i want it.

That's precisely how the Raptio is set up.

Yeah, but the Raptio doesn't have "a couple of seconds" sample size, plus it seems like he's trying to hit a low price point.

Oh Im sure it'll be different. Im just suggesting dude check out a pedal that is almost exactly like what he is planning to make to see how it was done in that case.

Momentary makes most sense for short samples. If you want a longer drone/sample/hold keep your foot or other appendage on the switch longer. Easy. If latching switch then it makes doing two stomps for short glithces a bit difficult.

one switch control for either contuious play mode on or momentary capture mode on..

...Or If your gonna do anything ya better do it right, so both always both... justkidding....^ maybe soft pushbutton arcade style
