is there a tape echo pedal other than the replicator?

I guess there's the Vocu/Hiwatt one but it doesn't have a footswitch

http://spacecasetapeecho.com/ comes with aux footswitch so you don't need to have the unit on your board but can switch it on/off from there.

Most tape echos, including vintage, will have a footswitch in. If not, you can put it on a true bypass looper. Not always the best idea to stomp on them motors.

I think Ruiner said it was ~$600 or $800, something like that.

iirc that price is outdated and he jacks it up almost every run. I recall the last price being about $1200 now, with more features than it initially did. Still though, for that price why wouldn't you just get an RE-201/101, have it properly serviced, buy some spare tape, build a footswitch or have one built, get some spare strings/patch cables, go the pub and have a pint instead?

I think the spacecase is just a slightly modded echomatic

You can build them pretty cheap, looks very simple to make.
