Looking for suggestions for doom rig

Hi guys, first post. Looking for suggestions for an amp to AB with a EH Mig 50 re-issue. I've looked at a ton of amps, but I am having trouble making a decision. Currently have an Emperor 4x12 and a converted closed Orange 2x12, with plans of getting either another 4x12 or another 2x12. I want something that's gonna be great for massive wall of sound/drone stuff, but still versatile enough to sound great when riffing.

I've looked at Model T's a lot, but finding a first gen one that isn't ridiculously priced is a bit of an issue. I've been looking at Jessup's 100W clones, but there doesn't seem to be enough quality samples or reviews on it to warrant the price tag. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

If you're looking for something relatively similar to a first gen Model T, your best bet would be something like a Fender Twin (lots of silverface head conversions out there) or maybe a Bassman.

I think the EH Mig 50 is essentially a version of a Fender Bassman though, as far I understand.

Just for clarificaton, it doesn't have to be something Model Tish, I'm more looking for something that will sound good with that MIG. For those that don't know, its basically a Sovtek MIG 50.

Not the same bassman. I miss my bassman 100. Took every pedal well. That through a 4x12 with some good speakers sounds so fuckin good.

Edit: If you got a budget of 2k then why not get a model t? Or a verellen, or science, etc

I kinda had the same problem with the Science Amps, I hear they're good for doom but there's not a lot of clips out there. Also, which one is the best one for doom? There's the mother, street sweeper etc, but not really a whole lot of info that distinguishes between them.

I cant tell if you're trolling or not rn.

There are at least 50 different amps that fit your description and budget.
You may wanna check out the ilovedoom section. Or maybe list stuff that you are able to try out/considering.
I know science just put up a lot of clips for each of their models, as well.

Get a good preamp and a super powerful PA amp with as many cabs you can handle :thumb:

Any of the 45-50W bassman's (Two 6L6) power tubes will Doom like mad. There's some Youtube videos to prove this, It's just a beautifully simple circuit that overdrives the right way everywhere.

I got a '68, though that one's pretty rough, but it's loud as balls, and will compliment that Mig 50 really well, since as someone else pointed out.. it's basically the same circuit.
I believe 67 was the last of the "Blackface" circuit, though they had already moved to silverface aesthetics. The AB165 circuit (most stuff after 1967) is probably actually better for Doom-y stuff because it has an extra gain stage, though I find it to be rather harsh. There's a couple mods that are what I would consider necessary to open the beast up, but overall they sound pimp.
http://fenderguru.com/amps/bassman/
That basically tells you everything you need to know to open up a AB165. I've done all of that to mine but retained the fixed bias, and I have a potentiometer for NFB, but at bare minimum you gotta pull those 220k plate resistors. The amp will drive so much harder.

Yeah man, Bassman for days.

No, the one you are talking about is the 5F6-A.

Hey dude. You want amp dirt or a clean pedal situation? Tryin to do a stereo rig or just link em up? With that budget you can do a lot. If it was my money to throw around I would do this:

6 power tubes, 6 12" speakers, 6 beers makes the sixpack
