Trashy Spitty Fuzz for a Plexi-Style Amp

I'm looking for suggestions for a main fuzz that can get me in that nasty, trashy, and wild area.

I'd prefer something I can build from a kit. Here's what I'm thinking so far:

Fuzzrite
Bosstone
Ampeg Scrambler?

I want something simple and nasty, but still sort of versatile. I'm playing out of a cranked plexi-style amp.

Bosstone is one of my faves! Buzzaround can be fun and aggressive, also the Selmer Buzz Tone could be a fun one to try. Not a lot of gain, but could add some cool nastiness to an already cranked amp.

If you run the amp broken up or on edge of break up try an Os Mutantes fuzz.

Sounds interesting but I run this thing CRANKED, man. It's PUNK.

If I can get somewhere in the territory of Scratch Acid's Cannibal I'd be stoked.

Mk. 1 Tonebender clone or Carcosa would be my first impulses. But a good Fuzzrite or Bosstone is also awesome.

Tone Benders are sick but they seem all over the place. Is there a solid mk 1 kit out there?

Get a warmjet pcb from Ghost Effects and mess with the bias knobs. That thing can sound like anything you want it to.

What are the Fuzzrite clones du jour? I know people who used to rep for the Ashbass. Then Catalinbread did the official collaboration a couple years back. What others are out there that I should know about?

Soundwave breakdown is clutch. I built a clone :erm: and it sounds so nuts. You can get anything from weird splatty glitch to sub-octave to creamed out sustain.

Fuzz God 2 is pretty dope too, by Red Witch. I think it's a fuzz-face with a ton of mods. I made the Bias trimmer on mine an external pot so you can go from just a hint of OD to a full on Clang fuzz.

Carcosa is great IMO, and the Tone Bender's all have a pretty wide range too.

Ed Sanner, the Fuzzrite's designer, designed this contemporary version: http://www.hallmarkguitars.com/pedals/nu-fuzz.shtml

CultureJam has also had a version available in the shark tank, though I cannot speak to current availability: viewtopic.php?f=262&t=43056

For Tonebender Mk 1, I don't have a specific one in mind, as it's a specific sound I haven't really chased. The only one I've given much thought is the Roger Mayer Page fuzz (or whatever it's called), which has been layed out on veroboard by DIY people and cleverly gets the voltages and polarity right while allowing use of a standard power supply.

 Count me in with the Soundwave Breakdown lovers group. That pedal doesn't get enough recognition.

A little more on the expensive side but totally worth it is the Creepy Fingers Fuzz Fight. You can get it in either germanium or silicon too.

Soundwave breakdown seems a little too extreme for me. I still want some note clarity for chords with some splatty sizzle.
