Damn I love this synth. So much fun to play.
I want a similar prices companion to go with it. I have the Roland jP-x3. Something Analog would be preferable. No Volcas.

You mean JX-3P? Old one or the new lil' reissue guy?
Was gonna say Minilogue to have a poly to contrast to the Microbrute's mono, but the JX-3P's pretty dope already for that sorta thing...

I've got a Monologue and a Mininova, both purchased for well under $300. They're very different but I like them both, a lot. Obv the Monologue fits your description more.
Yamaha Reface series has had a price drop recently, all around $300 new. But not analog.
Lots of hype surrounding Behringer's Model D ($299 new) but they're not really available yet.
I'm looking at getting the AIRA System-1 next. Real cheap used.

The Roland Boutique reissue.
I might look into the SE-02 after I pay off this guitar I bought at GC with a GC credit card.

Ah, gotcha! Well if you're looking for something analog and affordable, I can't recommend the Minilogue enough. I was skeptical when I first heard about it, but after playing one I was practically instantly sure I wanted one. I'm still kinda astounded that a new analog poly exists at that price point, not to mention that you can get one even cheaper used. Cool, cool synth.

I had three at one point, hooking them up all together was great with patching pitch cv, two was dope, 3 a bit much....they paid for a masf, judder and whatnot....think cv with next purchase...

I think the Minilogue is a great compliment to mono synths like the Minibrute. Dial in a cool sequence with one and play over the top with the other.
