thinking about decoloring or blacking out my tu3, hof mini, ct5, and aby. i know a couple y'all do this. the ct5 and aby are the kicker. the aby is an original radial bones twin city. those pedals are obvious fairly complex. if you're up to the task or can point me in the right direction let me know.
i'd use the search function but we talk about it so much no specific threads come up for pages.

You just want them painted black over the existing finish?

it's a bit of both. i definitely want my aby switcher etched/repainted coz radial makes their pedals so gaudy looking. as for my ct5 i want that sucker black, whoever has the black ct5 convinced me just from photos of their board. and as for my hof and tu-3. just decolorized. i'm mainly doing this so when i go play shows all my pedals will look super no-name and not worth anyone trying to steal or ask me "hey buddy how do you get your tone?"

As far as I know, I'm the only one with a black Ct5. Or I was. I stripped all tha paint of off everything.
That was just a rattlecan finish. Three or four coats and a few of poly. I couldn't get the led out safely, so I stuck the guts in a ziplock, pulled the led through the enclosure, taped the led off, and sprayed away.
Also disinterested in displaying brands.

Do you think having the brands stripped covered will lead to more questions or fewer? I would think more.

I does it! I'm busy right now though. So I might not be able to do it.

Yes. For sure. But it's an aesthetic choice like *any* (edit) other. Some people don't like wearing clothes with any branding, that kind of thing.
But I also really like that they're kinda devalued or 'ruined.'

It is a lifestyle choice.

I certainly can't tell what brand your cat is after you painted it black.

Ay no judgement at all. I like the stamped metal case look the best too. You going to see city of caterpillars in a couple weeks? I can go either day (sf or oak) just deciding which one.
