hi all!
been a minute! i have a question for yous. i have wanted a jhs color box for a while but i def don't wanna support jhs in anyway. there don't seem to be any clones and even putting a used one on the board seems like a bad look. so my question is this: what do yous things about hte bogner oxford? it's a neve transformer not the lundstahl in the color box. i want that blown out channel strip sound. the demos of the oxford are all pretty bad blues lawyer/post hardcore type stuff. s'good?

I haven't played an Oxford but I've owned three different versions (9v, 24v and 24v with second footswitch) of the Hudson Broadcast, which has a transformer in it, and I highly recommend it.

(Not quite the same thing, but sorta does the same kinda thing?)

I want a Broadcast, have eyed them pretty hard for a while. That Oxford looks pretty cool—I need to check it out. I've played a Wessex, which I thought was a great sounding drive, but I didn't feel compelled to buy one to replace my Mini (I never do).

The Supro Drive also has a transformer and sounds pretty cool, but not as "desk-y" as the Colour Box or the Broadcast.

Another pedal aiming for that sound that I've been meaning to check out in the Fredric Effects Accomplished Badger. No transformer though, if that matters:

If we're just talking fuzzes with transformers in em, then the Brassmaster, B:assmaster and the new Krytical Mass from TWA have one.

If you can find a two-footswitch version, you might not need another dirt pedal on your board.
