Last weekend I released my first solo album. I've been thinking about doing for about 8 years now,
but been occupied with bands most of the time it always got delayed.
So last weekend I had a solo gig at this experimental music festival and 3-4 days prior to that I just decided "I'm gonna make a record and release it at the festival on saturday". So I went to our studio/rehearsal space, set up my gear, put up some mics, hit record and started playing.
So in the following days I mixed the album and made the cover art.

It is now available on Bandcamp, both digital and as CD-R with handmade cover.

I have a lot of ideas for more albums, so will defenitely release more albums. But we're moving our studio very soon, so it won't happen untill after we're all set at the new place.

Some info about the process:
Last Saturday a bandmate and I was talking about that we should record more music.
We have lots of recording gear and even a pretty decent studio, but we spend very little time actually recording our own music(I do record other bands and artist there though).
When I woke up on Sunday I just said to myself, "I'm gonna record a new album today".
Since I should stay inside, I decided to do it at home and not in the studio where my big amps are.
I've been thinking about doing some more "quiet" music for a while, and figured this was the moment.

So I grabbed my acoustic guitar and found a cool tuning in the "WHATS UR FAVOURITE TUNING..."-thread.
Played around with it for a couple of minutes and found some cool chords in there.
Went up to the attic of our building and set up my Zoom H4n as room mic and a EV PL80(also going into the Zoom) as a close mic for the guitar.
Recorded myself playing for about 25 minutes.

Put the recording into my DAW and then sent the close-mic channel through some of my pedals and did some loops and sound mangling in real-time while the track was playing.
Then I did some EQ, compression and volume-balancing and it was done.

hey nice work! just listened to it entirely and i really enjoyed it, i'm a sucker for open tunings and arpeggios over ambient sounds.
What tuning/guitar was it? i like how the lower strings resonate when you struck chords if the first part. Uh, cool hypnotic L/R panning overall too.

Anyway i have found the first good thing of this isolation: working from home means that i'm able to listen to whatever i want to with studio headphones instead of shitty pc speakers.
