Os is a great guy, and I absolutely love my Submarine. He's hinted over at talkbass that this may not be a permanent closing.

I have never heard of these pedals.
Bummer, but I understand the reasons he's closing up.

They're quite well know over at talkbass because they made a few relatively popular bass-specific pedals, and also Os is a member and posts over there a bit.
On the non-bass-specific front, I've heard good things about their FaceDrive
