This is actually a good move on behalf of EHX, but I'm kind of ambivalent since I got my badascan.

I can't get behind any big muffs that aren't actually big. The bigness is the secret to the tone.

I would like EHX about a million times more if their knobs were a little better.
And their QC.
And their power supply filtering.
And their graphics.
But also their knobs.

But this looks fairly cool?

If it sounds like it's supposed to and they're charging Soul Food prices for it, I'm interested.

Yeah, I don't know what prevented them from doing this before or *while* every other company on God's green earth was making russian clones.

I think EHX offering a variety of muffs has definitely turned people away from just buying the big box current version (which sucks) coz I see a lot more bass BM and tone wicker muffs on indie kid boards the past few years. Imagine a kid starting out, wants to sound like whoever and can tell his big box reissue isn't cutting the mustard. "Get thee a russian muff clone" says the internet hivemind. Well, now that kid can go back to ehx instead of fredric, wren&cuff, arc effects, whoever. Smart move for ehx but I doubt this will be better than those small builders' clones.

At least it looks cool and they didn't give it some garbage ed hardy airbrush dragon.
