i've built a bunch of pedals, so i'm no stranger to the soldering iron. that said i've never got into noise generators/fx/synths/drones/etc. any one have good links for kits/plans/places to start/etc?

Then again, I have been eyeing the BYOC site and might want to try getting a simple kit before trying other things.

umm... i'm not sure you understood what i meant. like the post said, i've build pedals so i know my way around a soldering iron, i was looking for specific links for synth/fx/glitch/noise stuff, not general DIY info.

I've been exploring the DIY Stompboxes forum for a bit and have seen some cool pedal schematics floating around there (including Doug's Mid-Fi pedals!). Also, http://www.freestompboxes.org/index.php has a lot of nice schematics of both old and new pedals, including some crazy ones like the Magnus Modulus delay. I don't know where you would find kits, but I'm sure someone out there has some.

yeah, again, i'm not really talking about pedals, but more synth-noise-fx generators.

This is a very synth oriented website, they offer a lot of kits and have some pretty cool modifications for those kits as well.

Tight stuff

I got my start from Nicholas collins' book Hardware Hacking. With a little ingenuity and that book you could make Squaresnakes and Robot Devil, and maybe a Great Destroyer.
